Abstract:
A rotating member comprising a central portion having a center aperture, a first arm extending radially outward from the central portion, the first arm having a length L, a second arm extending radially outward from the central portion, a first magnet mounted on the first arm such that a magnetic field of the first magnet extends into a recess between the first and second arms, and a second magnet mounted on the second arm such that a magnetic field of the second magnet extends into the recess between the first and second arms.
Abstract:
A universal 6-DOF mems sensor combined with six degree of motion algorithms and human motion parameters permits individualized real time motion analysis of a user to enable accurate measurements. Data derived thereby is wirelessly sent for viewing to a Bluetooth® enabled smartphone or combination smartphone and eyeglass device, marketed as the Google Glass® headset. The sensor is worn on a wrist or ankle band or in combination with a chest mounted cardio heart rate monitor dependent on the biometric parameters measured. Typical physical exercise data gathered includes reps, sets, 10-100 yard dash times, vertical, horizontal and broad jump distances, a range of shuttle times, RAST, steps taken, distance traveled, velocity, acceleration, and calories burned. The heart rate monitor provides cardio assessment and the 6-DOF sensor measures a runner's pace and cadence data.
Abstract:
An exercise platform system and apparatus is disclosed that includes a plurality of angled step surfaces. In one aspect, the exercise platform can include an exercise platform base adapted to interface with a supporting surface and an exercise platform upper surface coupled to the exercise platform base that includes a first step having a first step surface, a second step having a second step surface, and a center landing area located between the first step and the second step, the center landing area being substantially parallel to the exercise platform base, wherein the first step surface and the second step surface are angled toward the center landing area by an angle between 5 and 30 degrees, inclusive. Further, the first step surface and the second step surface can be angled by a second angle between 5 and 30 degrees toward a transverse axis laterally bisecting the exercise platform base.

Abstract:
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a gas expander system suitable for use in a turbomachine, the gas expander system comprising: a gas expander provided with a moveable part; a magnetic gear arrangement; and a shaft; the moveable part of the gas expander being connectable to a load via the magnetic gear arrangement and the shaft, and movement of the moveable part of the gas expander being arranged to cause movement of the shaft.
Abstract:
A method for producing a continuous web of printed material for use in creating mailpieces. The continuous web has a width and a length, the length comprised of a series of attached sheets. The series of attached sheets are comprising envelope sheets and rectangular content pages. The content pages are rectangular in shape and may be oriented relative to the envelope sheets in a number of different configurations. In some configurations, two sets of content pages and/or envelope sheets can be printed across the width of the web. Sheets for forming business return envelopes may be printed in series with the content pages and envelope sheets. BREs may include individualized return addresses. A control code may be printed on one or more of the sheets for a given mailpiece, providing information for controlling assembly of the mailpiece. Two sets of sheets may be printed across the width of the web by printing content pages onto the continuous web such that two end-to-end content pages are printed across the width of the web. Positioning of mail content pages and envelope sheets for a given mailpiece may be optimized based on respective processing times determined for the system.
Abstract:
Laundry detergent compositions comprise (a) surfactant, and (b) a hueing dye, wherein the hueing dye exhibits a hueing efficiency of at least 10 and a wash removal value in the range of from about 30% to about 80%.
Abstract:
A magnetic flux-enhanced control line for a superconducting flux flow transistor (SFFT). The SFFT includes a pair of superconducting electrodes which provide a voltage output, a region of weakened superconductor connecting the electrodes and a control line. The region of weakened superconductor carries a current I.sub.body and the control line carries a current I.sub.Control. The control line further has a portion thereof proximate the weakened region for providing a localized magnetic field through the weakened region as a function of I.sub.Control. The magnetic flux through the weakened region induces vortices therein which have a resistance r.sub.o. The proximate portion of the control line forms a tortuous current path whereby the magnetic flux through the weakened region is increased for increasing r.sub.o so that the output voltage of the transistor is increased without increasing I.sub.Control.
