    摘要: Provided is an active matrix light emitting diode (AMOLED) display. A driver circuit of the AMOLED display can be easily manufactured in a simple structure in a current programming method. The AMOLED display programs a voltage corresponding to a current necessary for the operation of an OLED in a memory capacitor, and induces and stores a voltage corresponding to a driving voltage in the memory capacitor while making a preset current flowing between a source and a drain of a driving transistor.

    摘要: A wideband analog solid-state switch is provided as a component in an M.times.N crosspoint matrix switch for routing one of N inputs to one or more of M outputs.The basic switch comprises an inversion circuit and a control circuit. The inversion circuit consists of three field-effect transistors (FETs) that are connected in series along their source-drain paths, thus forming a path between a voltage source and ground. The input signal is connected to the control input of the first FET. When the switch is ON, the first FET modulates the current flowing through the conducting paths of the three FETs. The third FET provides a non-linear load. The output is measured across the third FET. When the switch is OFF, the second FET prevents current from leaking through the first FET to the output.For the M.times.N crosspoint matrix switch, each of M rows of output lines has N crosspoints, with each crosspoint switching its associated input signal onto an output line. Therefore, one input can be routed over more than one output line. Each crosspoint consists of the basic switch without the FET constituting the non-linear load. The crosspoints for each row are connected in parallel such that they share a common non-linear load FET. Therefore, once a crosspoint is actuated, the selected crosspoint and common FET function as the basic switch described above. The output of each row can be fed into an amplifier in order to improve the output drive capability.

    摘要: A luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) for receiving electromagnetic radiation of at least a first wavelength is disclosed. The LSC includes a core layer. A lower clad layer substantially underlies the core layer. At least one photovoltaic (PV) cell is partially embedded in at least one of the core layer and the lower clad layer. At least one dye layer substantially overlies the core layer. The at least one dye layer has embedded therein at least one absorption dipole and at least one emission dipole, the at least one emission dipole being coupled to the at least one absorption dipole. The at least one absorption dipole is configured to absorb the electromagnetic radiation of at least a first wavelength incident from any direction and the at least one emission dipole is configured to emit electromagnetic radiation of at least a second wavelength substantially within at least one of the core layer and the lower clad layer so that the electromagnetic radiation of at least a second wavelength is at least partially absorbed by the at least one PV cell. The at least one absorption dipole is coupled to the at least one emission dipole by Forster resonant energy transfer (FRET).

    摘要: A read-only memory (ROM) is disclosed that uses the presence or absence of linear passive electrical elements, such as resistors or capacitors, to encode zeros and ones, permitting a large-area ROM to be fabricated, possibly on a flexible substrate. The ROM includes a substrate, a plurality of row conductors insulated from each other and at least partially layered on a portion of the substrate; a plurality of column conductors insulated from each other and from the row conductors and at least partially layered above or below a portion of the plurality of row conductors, a plurality of amplifiers electrically connected to the column conductors, and at least one linear passive element attached between the row conductors and the column conductors. An amplifier connected to a column conductor has an input impedance much lower than the combined parallel impedance of the linear passive elements connected to that column, thus comprising a virtual ground, and is operable to output a first logical state when one of the linear passive elements is electrically connected between one of the row conductors and one of the column conductors, and operable to output a second local state when said one of the linear passive elements is absent between one of the row conductors and one of the column conductors. The resistive or capacitive arrays can be made into low-cost imagers if the resistors/capacitors are sensitive to electromagnetic radiation or mechanical pressure.
