摘要： A closed cell, rigid polymer foam which comprises the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component in the presence of a catalyst and a hydrogen-containing blowing agent or a mixture of a hydrogen-containing blowing agent and at least one co-blowing agent wherein the isocyanate-reactive component comprises (a) a hydroxy terminated polyester having an equivalent weight greater than about 350, or (b) a mixture of the hydroxy terminated polyester with at least one other isocyanate-reactive compound. Foams prepared with the hydroxy terminated polyester have superior shrinkage resistance, strength and long-term insulating efficiency.

摘要： A storage stable polyester polyol mixture is prepared by digesting polyalkylene terephthalate, particularly polyethylene terephthalate, with a digesting medium comprising a polycarboxylic acid component-containing polyol, wherein the polycarboxylic acid component has ring units with two ##STR1## groups on adjacent or alternate ring positions, the ring unit content of the polycarboxylic acid component being sufficient for improved storage stability of the digestion product. The polyester polyol mixture is useful in the preparation of cellular foam materials, particularly polyisocyanurate and polyurethane foams.

摘要： A structural laminate comprises at least one planar facing sheet with a rigid foam attached to one surface of the facing sheet. The rigid foam is characterized in that the major recurring chemical linkage therein is the isocyanurate moiety. Distributed substantially evenly throughout the foam is a mat of long straight glass fibers arranged in layers substantially parallel to the facing sheet. The process for producing this structural laminate comprises the steps of contacting a thin, substantially incompressible yet expansible mat of long straight glass fibers with a foam-forming mixture of an organic polyisocyanate and a diol, positioning a facing sheet on each face of the mat, and passing the facing sheets having the mat and the foam-forming mixture there between through the nip of two rotating rolls.

摘要： A storage-stable premix composition for use in a foam-forming reaction with an organic polyisocyanate in the manufacture of a polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam comprising(a) at least one polyol,(b) at least one halogenated organic blowing agent,(c) at least one amine catalyst, and(d) a stabilizing amount of at least one polyvalent metal-containing organometallic compound.Some organometallic compounds of the invention have a slight catalytic effect but do not have the pronounced activity of conventional urethane and isocyanurate catalysts such as dibutyltin dilaurate and stannous octoate.

The rigid foam may be any polymeric material which is capable of being foamed. Distributed substantially evenly throughout the foam is a mat of long glass fibers arranged in layers substantially parallel to the facing sheet. The process for producing this structural laminate comprises the steps of contacting a thin, substantially incompressible yet expansible mat of long glass fibers with a foam-forming mixture, positioning a facing sheet on each face of the mat, and passing the facing sheets having the mat and the foam-forming mixture therebetween through means for metering the amount of foam-forming mixture and causing it to fully penetrate between the fibers of said glass mat.
