    摘要: A structural laminate comprises at least one planar facing sheet with a rigid foam attached to one surface of the facing sheet. The rigid foam is characterized in that the major recurring chemical linkage therein is the isocyanurate moiety. Distributed substantially evenly throughout the foam is a mat of long straight glass fibers arranged in layers substantially parallel to the facing sheet. The process for producing this structural laminate comprises the steps of contacting a thin, substantially incompressible yet expansible mat of long straight glass fibers with a foam-forming mixture of an organic polyisocyanate and a diol, positioning a facing sheet on each face of the mat, and passing the facing sheets having the mat and the foam-forming mixture there between through the nip of two rotating rolls.

    摘要: Rigid, closed cell polyisocyanurate foams are prepared by reacting together a polyisocyanate and a polyester polyol or a mixture of a polyester polyol and at least one other isocyanate-reactive compound in the presence of (a) a hydrogen-containing blowing agent or a mixture of a hydrogen-containing blowing agent and at least one co-blowing agent and (b) a catalyst mixture comprising (i) a carboxylate salt of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal or mixtures thereof, (ii) a quaternary ammonium carboxylate salt, and (iii) optionally a tertiary amine, wherein the mole ratio of carboxylate metal salt: tertiary amine is a value greater than about 2:1, and the total moles of quaternary ammonium carboxylate salt are less than the combined moles of the carboxylate metal salt and the tertiary amine.

    摘要: A closed cell, rigid polymer foam which comprises the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component in the presence of a catalyst and a hydrogen-containing blowing agent or a mixture of a hydrogen-containing blowing agent and at least one co-blowing agent wherein the isocyanate-reactive component comprises (a) a hydroxy terminated polyester having an equivalent weight greater than about 350, or (b) a mixture of the hydroxy terminated polyester with at least one other isocyanate-reactive compound. Foams prepared with the hydroxy terminated polyester have superior shrinkage resistance, strength and long-term insulating efficiency.

    摘要: A storage stable polyester polyol mixture is prepared by digesting polyalkylene terephthalate, particularly polyethylene terephthalate, with a digesting medium comprising a polycarboxylic acid component-containing polyol, wherein the polycarboxylic acid component has ring units with two ##STR1## groups on adjacent or alternate ring positions, the ring unit content of the polycarboxylic acid component being sufficient for improved storage stability of the digestion product. The polyester polyol mixture is useful in the preparation of cellular foam materials, particularly polyisocyanurate and polyurethane foams.
