Abstract:
A transfusion system is disclosed for use in field, especially emergency situations. It includes two transfusion needles with a tube creating fluid communication between them. A blood counter that alarms or system that turns off the transfusion is included to prevent too much blood being transfused.
Abstract:
A bowling ball carrier such as a wheeled cart which, in one preferred embodiment, includes one or more removably attached ball bags which may have end supports for stability. In another embodiment of the invention, the bowling ball carrier may include removably attached panels to facilitate the placement of embroidery on the panels. In another aspect of the invention, a pouch with a resilient, elastic portion may be used to transport a bowling ball, and may be attached to the cart frame, allowing easy access to and removal of the ball from the pouch without having to remove the pouch from the cart frame.
Abstract:
A method and system for locking a defined portion of the live mathematical document. A live mathematical document program, executed on a computer processor, allows a user to edit a live mathematical document and also processes the document. The user can enter mathematical expressions in any position in the live mathematical document. The program automatically updates the live mathematical document to ensure that all expressions are consistent with all expressions upon which they depend. The user can position a first boundary line and a second boundary line in the live mathematical document. The program locks an area on the live mathematical document, the locked area being the area between the first boundary line and the second boundary line. An editor allows editing of expressions in the live mathematical document, and ascertains whether an edit is within the locked area and disallows such edits. Expressions, including expressions in the locked area, are automatically updated by the live mathematical document program to ensure that all expressions in the live mathematical document are consistent with all expressions upon which they depend.
Abstract:
A robotic cleaner includes a cleaning assembly for cleaning a surface and a main robot body. The main robot body houses a drive system to cause movement of the robotic cleaner and a microcontroller to control the movement of the robotic cleaner. The cleaning assembly is located in front of the drive system and a width of the cleaning assembly is greater than a width of the main robot body. A robotic cleaning system includes a main robot body and a plurality of cleaning assemblies for cleaning a surface. The main robot body houses a drive system to cause movement of the robotic cleaner and a microcontroller to control the movement of the robotic cleaner. The cleaning assembly is located in front of the drive system and each of the cleaning assemblies is detachable from the main robot body and each of the cleaning assemblies has a unique cleaning function.
Abstract:
A method for increasing the hardness of silica/rubber mixtures includes blending with the mixture at least one silane and a hardness-increasing amount of at least one member selected from the group consisting of thixotropic fumed silica, precipitated silica and an MQ resin, wherein Q is SiO4/2, M is R1R2R3SiO1/2, and R1,R2,and R3 are the same or different functional or non-functional organic groups, carbon black, a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin.
Abstract:
A writing utensil sanitizing assembly and method for sanitizing a writing utensil prior to and after using the writing utensil to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria from touching the writing utensil includes a housing having a first end wall, a second end wall, and a perimeter wall attached to and extending between the first and second end walls. The first end wall has a first aperture extending therethrough, and the second end wall has a second aperture extending therethrough. The first and second apertures receive the writing utensil. An absorbent medium is positioned within the housing and has an open conduit extending therethrough and receives the writing utensil such that the writing utensil abuts a surface of the open conduit. The absorbent medium absorbs a sanitizing fluid for application onto the writing utensil when the writing utensil passes through the open conduit.
Abstract:
A system for controllably adjusting spent water levels in the tailrace pool area of a hydroelectric power-generating dam installed into a waterway. The system comprises: (a) a controllably adjustable weir device installed into a downstream portion of the waterway adjacent a distal end of the tailrace pool area. The controllably adjustable weir device is configured for controllably impeding the egress of spent water from the tailrace pool area, (b) an apparatus provided with operative components configured for manipulating the controllably adjustable weir device to controllably increase and decrease the impediment therewith of spent water egress from the tailrace pool area. The operative components are serviceable from above the spent water, and (c) a control device configured for communicating and cooperating with the apparatus for manipulating the controllably adjustable weir therewith. The controllably adjustable weir device may be optionally installed into an excavation provided downstream adjacent to the tailrace pool area.
