Abstract:
The invention relates to methods and apparatus of measuring real time temperature conditions within a reformer. The data is then used for process control optimisation, overheat protection, and improved creep damage and fatigue life prediction.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for validating a circuit design are described. The circuit validation includes determining a subset of checks to apply to a portion of the overall circuit based on the pin type composition of the circuit portion.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for crediting media exposure are disclosed. An example method includes deriving a plurality of travel paths traversed by respective ones of a plurality of respondents, determining, via a first technique, exposures of the respective ones of the plurality of respondents to a plurality of media sites based on the derived plurality of travel paths, and modifying the determined exposures to the plurality of media sites to improve a statistical accuracy of the modified determined exposures by constraining the determined exposures based on exposure information for the plurality of media sites obtained via a second technique different than the first technique.
Abstract:
An engine, e.g., a cam drive, barrel-type internal combustion engine, that includes: a main drive shaft defining a longitudinal axis; a sinusoidal main drive cam rigidly attached to the main drive shaft; a plurality of cam members that are in contact with the sinusoidal main drive cam and that are configured to follow the sinusoidal main drive cam, wherein rotation of the sinusoidal main drive cam corresponds to reciprocating linear movement of each of the plurality of cam members in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis; for each cam member, a pair of linear pistons disposed on opposite sides of the cam member for reciprocating linear movement within respective cylinder bores.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a personal ice molding container that has an opening for filling and pouring of formed ice. The molding container has two molding halves that each have a plurality of compartments for freezing liquid into ice. The two molding halves are held together to hold the liquid in the compartments. The ice molding container has an opening to create a water-tight seal during freezing. The opening can be selectively sealed and, when open, allows for dispensing of the formed ice.
Abstract:
A catheter system for localized or semi-localized administration of agents through the wall of a blood vessel is provided. Various catheter system constructions which use at least one expandable occluding device to create an isolated region are provided. Constructions using one catheter and one occlusion device are provided, along with constructions using two catheters and multiple occlusion devices. The catheter system may include a catheter with a variable stiffness along its length. The catheter system may also include a guide wire integrated with an inner catheter. The catheter can infuse the agent into the blood vessel in a pressure regulated manner. Methods for delivery and infusion of the agent within a blood vessel are also provided.
Abstract:
A surgical probe for use in a hollow vessel or other region of the body which comprises a multi-lumen catheter having a transparent, non-compliant balloon coupled to the distal end, such that the balloon has a known shape when inflated. A direct visualization scope is provided in a first lumen of the multi-lumen catheter providing direct visualization into the hollow vessel through the non-compliant balloon. An adapter is coupled to a second lumen of the multi-lumen catheter near the proximal end to supply a transparent fluid through the second lumen to inflate the balloon to the predefined shape. In this aspect, the balloon operates to clear the scope tip by pressing tissue on the walls of the hollow vessel out of the way of the end of the scope. This provides the user of the device a consistent clear view of the tissue at the tip of the scope. A fiber optic is provided in a third lumen of the multi-lumen catheter to deliver light energy to the hollow vessel through the non-compliant balloon. A mechanism is provided for positioning the light emitting tip of the fiber optic within the balloon to establish a known propagation distance to the surface of the balloon for the light energy emitted from the light emitting tip.
