Abstract:
A front drivetrain capable of providing all-wheel drive to a rear-wheel drive architecture. The front drivetrain is coupled to the front end of the crank shaft and includes a power-split planetary gear arrangement that couples an electric machine to the front drivetrain. In one embodiment, the planetary gear arrangement includes a sun gear coupled to the crank shaft, a planetary gear set with a carrier coupled to the driveshaft, a ring gear coupled to the electric machine. The driveshaft may be connected to left and right front axles by a bevel gear set and a differential. In an alternative embodiment, sun gear may be coupled to the electric machine and the ring gear can be coupled to the crank shaft. In this alternative embodiment, the planetary gear set remain coupled to the driveshaft.
Abstract:
A process for removing hydrocarbons from a feed stream containing hydrocarbons includes introducing ozone to the feed stream to produce an ozone doped stream containing ozone and hydrocarbons, and contacting the ozone doped stream with a supported metal catalyst at a temperature of from 100° C. to 300° C. to produce a treated stream, wherein the supported metal catalyst comprises iron supported on a support selected from aluminosilicates, silica-aluminas, silicates and aluminas. A process for removing NOx from a feed stream containing NOx, and an apparatus for removing hydrocarbons and/or NOx from a feed stream containing hydrocarbons and/or NOx are also provided.
Abstract:
A dual clutch transmission (DCT) with double-range change. In one embodiment, the dual clutch transmission includes odd and even lay shafts and a separate range change shaft for each, thereby providing a range change for both the odd and even gear sets. The input shaft may include an extension gear that can be selectively driven by the inner input shaft or the outer input shaft to provide additional gear pairings. The extension gear may include a synchronizer on each face to allow it to be coupled to either the outer or inner input shaft. The transmission may include a reverse shaft coupled with the even lay shaft. The transmission may include a dual half synchronizer having a single hub and a split sleeve. The parts of the split sleeve are separately movable to allow independent synchronization of two pairs of rotating components.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for continually determining the remaining useful life of a drivetrain. The remaining useful life is continually determined during real-time operation of the drivetrain by determining a duty cycle based on torque and rotary speed measurements of the drivetrain. The duty cycle is converted into a useful life reduction, which is subtracted from the then-existing remaining useful life of the drivetrain. The systems and methods can additionally include displaying a remaining useful life during operation of the drivetrain, and generating an alert when the remaining useful life approaches or reaches zero. The drivetrain is optionally associated with an internal combustion engine, a wind turbine, or a gas turbine.
