摘要:
A method and apparatus are described for maintaining communications connectivity for client applications that send keep-alive messages and network applications that send client-alive (i.e., “are you there?”) messages. The client applications may register with a client proxy provided in an operating system (OS) of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and indicate a respective keep-alive message signaling rate. The network applications may register with a network proxy provided in an OS of a network node and indicate a respective client-alive message signaling rate. The client proxy and/or the network proxy may, respectively, register and prioritize keep-alive and/or client-alive message requirements, determine an optimal signaling rate based on the respective keep-alive and/or client-alive message signaling rates, and generate proxy messages, (i.e., an application layer proxy keep-alive message and/or a network layer proxy client-alive message), associated with the keep-alive and/or client-alive messages. The proxy messages may be transmitted at the optimal signaling rate.

A latching shifter with override feature is interfaced with a shift-by-wire transmission, wherein the latching of the shifter with respect to a gear cam is autonomously synchronized to a gear selected by the electronics of the transmission whenever the shifter is physically at another gear via autonomous actuation of a gear synchronization cam having an inclined cam follower guide surface. The incline urges the cam follower under its inherent biasing into the gear notch corresponding to the gear selected by the electronics of the transmission.

Embedded memories. The devices include a substrate, a first dielectric layer, a second dielectric layer, a third dielectric layer, and a plurality of capacitors. The substrate comprises transistors. The first dielectric layer, embedding first and second conductive plugs electrically connecting the transistors therein, overlies the substrate. The second dielectric layer, comprising a plurality of capacitor openings exposing the first conductive plugs, overlies the first dielectric layer. The capacitors comprise a plurality of bottom plates, respectively disposed in the capacitor openings, electrically connecting the first conductive plugs, a plurality of capacitor dielectric layers respectively overlying the bottom plates, and a top plate, comprising a top plate opening, overlying the capacitor dielectric layers. The top plate opening exposes the second dielectric layer, and the top plate is shared by the capacitors.

A method for assigning a tracking area (TA) is disclosed. A mobility state of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is determined and the TA is assigned based on the determined mobility state. Also disclosed is a method for accessing a closed subscriber group (CSG) TA.A CSG TA identifier is received at a WTRU and is stored. A CSG TA broadcast is received and the broadcast CSG TA is accessed if an identifier of the broadcast CSG TA matches the stored CSG TA identifier. Also disclosed is a method for changing a mobility state of a WTRU. A current mobility state of the WTRU is determined and a predetermined metric of the WTRU is examined. The predetermined metric is evaluated to determine if the metric has crossed a threshold and the mobility state is changed based on the evaluated metric.

Systems and methods of detecting an impending cardiac decompensation of a patient measure at least two of an electrocardiogram signal of the patient, a hydration signal of the patient, a respiration signal of the patient or an activity signal of the patient. The at least two of the electrocardiogram signal, the hydration signal, the respiration signal or the activity signal are combined with an algorithm to detect the impending cardiac decompensation.

Methods, apparatuses, and systems are presented for performing adaptive equalization involving receiving a signal originating from a channel associated with inter-symbol interference, filtering the signal using a filter having a plurality of adjustable tap weights to produce a filtered signal, and adaptively updating each of the plurality of adjustable tap weights to a new value to reduce effects of inter-symbol interference, wherein each of the plurality of adjustable tap weights is adaptively updated to take into account a constraint relating to a measure of error in the filtered signal and a constraint relating to group delay associated with the filter. Each of the plurality of adjustable tap weights may be adaptively updated to drive group delay associated with the filter toward a target group delay.

Methods and apparatus for random access in multicarrier wireless communications are disclosed. Methods and apparatus are provided for physical random access channel (PRACH) resource signaling, PRACH resource handling, preamble and PRACH resource selection, random access response (RAR) reception, preamble retransmission, and transmission and reception of subsequent messages. A method for maintaining an allowed multicarrier uplink (UL) random access channel (RACH) configuration set by adding an UL carrier to the allowed RACH configuration set provided that a triggering event occurs and performing a random access (RA) procedure using the allowed RACH configuration set. A method for sending data in multicarrier wireless communications by determining a set of available UL carriers and selecting an UL carrier from the set of available UL carriers.

A method and apparatus are described for providing multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS) service feedback. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive an MBMS service query message over an MBMS control channel and transmit an MBMS service response. The MBMS service query message and MBMS service response message may be radio resource controller messages. The MBMS service query message may include MBMS service identifiers which identify MBMS services that the WTRU is receiving or intending to receive. The WTRU may generate a report with MBMS service identifier index values, where each MBMS service identifier index value indicates a position of a service identifier corresponding to an MBMS service in the original query list that the WTRU is currently receiving or intending to receive. The MBMS service status query message may be received alone or along with a MBSFNAreaConfiguration message. The WTRU may respond within a predetermined or configured time limit.

A method for monitoring a lithium-ion battery cell includes monitoring a battery cell voltage and a corresponding state of charge of the battery cell during an electric power event which may include either an electric power charge event or an electric power discharge event. A measured potential-derivative is determined by differentiating the battery cell voltage in relation to the corresponding state of charge of the battery during the electric power event. The measured potential-derivative is compared with a preferred anode potential-derivative of an anode charge curve (for electric power discharge events) or an anode discharge curve (for electric power charge events), and with a preferred cathode potential-derivative of a cathode charge curve (for electric power charge events) or a cathode discharge charge curve (for electric power discharge events). A first state of health parameter of the battery cell corresponding to the comparison of the measured potential-derivative with the preferred anode potential-derivative of the anode curve is determined. And, a second state of health parameter of the battery cell corresponding to the comparison of the measured potential-derivative with the preferred cathode potential-derivative of the cathode curve is determined.
