    摘要: The outside edges of a sealing plate are weld attached to close off an opening in a metal case of a prismatic battery of this invention. The sealing plate has an electrode rivet which passes through an electrode hole and sandwiches an insulating gasket to attach in an electrically insulating fashion. The battery case houses an electrode group with either its positive or negative electrode plate connected to the electrode rivet. The sealing plate has a periphery region or reinforcement rib which is formed thicker than the rivet region where the electrode rivet attaches, and the outside edges of this reinforcement rib are weld attached to the case.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a battery containing a non-circular spiral electrode unit forms a true circular or elliptical cylindrical electrode unit by winding positive and negative electrode plates with a micro-porous polymer film separator disposed between the two electrode plates. The cylindrical electrode unit is pressed from both sides into a non-circular spiral electrode unit and inserted into an external case to form a battery. When the cylindrical electrode unit is pressed into a non-circular spiral electrode unit, the separator gurley value of the pressed non-circular spiral electrode unit is arranged to be in the range from 110% to 150%, where the separator gurley value of the cylindrical electrode unit is 100%.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a battery in which a plurality of positive and negative electrodes are alternately superposed, with each of separator layers therebetween, in the form of flat package. Through-bores are centrally defined in the electrode having one polarity interposed between a pair of electrodes having the other polarity, and both separator layers sandwiching said electrode having said one polarity. Passed through these central bores is an electrical contact member, of which at least the portion in contact with said electrode having said one polarity, is coated with insulating material. Said pair of electrodes having said other polarity are therefore electrically connected to each other by said electrical contact member. Thus, electric contact between the electrodes having a same polarity may simply be provided, internal short-circuit in the battery may be prevented and the assembling of the battery may be facilitated.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a method of manufacturing positive electrodes for nonaqueous cells in which manganese dioxide is used as positive active material and light metals such as lithium, sodium or aluminium are used as negative active material, said method comprising the steps of adding to manganese dioxide active material powder, a binder and a viscous agent solution decomposable at temperatures lower than the melting point of the binder, thereby to form paste, applying such paste to the supporting member, and heat-treating this paste-applied supporting member firstly at the decomposition temperature of the viscous agent in an oxidization atmosphere, and secondly at the melting point of the binder under vacuum or in an inert atmosphere, whereby a decrease in the discharge capacity during the manufacture is restrained, to improve the cell performance.

The laminated sheathing forms the sealed chamber by overlapping and airtightly adhering opposing surfaces of the laminated films at a primary sealing area and at a secondary sealing area which is perpendicular to the direction of the primary sealing area. Collector terminals are connected to a positive electrode and to a negative electrode of the electricity generating element. The collector terminal are airtightly crimped in the secondary sealing area of the laminated sheathing. Also, the collector terminals extend outwardly of the laminated sheathing. The primary sealing part of the laminated sheathing is located over a surface of the electricity generating element.
