Abstract:
A method of coating a workpiece. The method includes applying a primer layer having a color pigment to the workpiece, applying a basecoat layer to the primer layer, and applying a clearcoat layer to the basecoat layer. The primer layer contributes to the color of the workpiece.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for character set control, verification and reporting are provided. In an example embodiment, a data evaluation system comprises at least one module, executing on one or more computer processors, to implement a language and character set phase in which an authorized character set comprising authorized characters is defined; a document phase including receipt of an input document, the input document comprising document characters; a detection phase including a comparison of the document characters against the authorized characters in the authorized character set to detect unauthorized characters in the input document not forming part of the authorized character set; and a reporting phase including display of the unauthorized characters to a user.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed toward a terminal marker used to identify a terminal block. The terminal marker includes a front having a print surface, a back, sides, and flexible legs. The flexible legs can be positioned in a natural state for installation in the terminal block or a compressed state for obtaining a marking from a printer. In the natural state, the flexible legs extend at an angle with respect to the print surface of the terminal marker. In the compressed state, the flexible legs extend outward beyond of the sides of the terminal marker.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed for monitoring paint color across regions of a vehicle, for identifying color mismatches, and for dynamically determining the acceptability of an identified mismatch. The system includes a vehicle image acquisition array digital cameras for digitally scanning selected regions of the vehicle and an image analyzer connected to the vehicle image acquisition system. The image analyzer is programmed with standard confidence color curves and includes software programmed with an analysis algorithm to convert an image of a scanned region into a standard image format. Individual color curves are extracted from the standard format to compare the extracted color curves against the standard confidence color curves to determine whether or not the extracted color curves fall within standard confidence color curves. The standard confidence color curves may be adjusted during color testing based upon accumulated extracted color curves.
Abstract:
A self-laminating rotating cable marker label is constructed of a transparent film having a first adhesive area, an adhesive-free smooth area, and a second adhesive area. A print-on area forms one side of the transparent film, the print-on area adapted to receive indicia identifying the cable about which the marker label is applied. A perforation extends across the transparent film providing a line of separation of the transparent film. When wrapped around a cable, the second adhesive area overlies the print-on area such that the cable identifying indicia is visible through the transparent second adhesive area. As the transparent film is wrapped around the cable, the first adhesive area adheres to the cable. The remainder of the transparent film is rotated, breaking the perforation, whereby the smooth area of the film in contact with the cable provides smooth rotation of the label around the cable.
Abstract:
A computer readable medium stores executable instructions to define a hybrid slowly changing dimension table; establish vertical hierarchy tables from the hybrid slowly changing dimension table; query a first vertical hierarchy table to produce first results characterizing current hierarchical relationships; and query a second vertical hierarchy table to produce second results characterizing historical hierarchical relationships.
Abstract:
In an embodiment of the present invention there is provided a micro-electromechanical (MEMS) accelerometer, including a substrate, a first sensor and a second sensor. The first sensor is configured to measure an acceleration along a first axis parallel to a plane of the substrate. The second sensor is configured to measure an acceleration along an axis perpendicular to the plane of the substrate. The second sensor comprises a first beam, a second beam and a single support structure. The single support structure supports the first and second beams relative to the substrate, wherein the first and second beams circumscribe the first sensor.
Abstract:
A modular cab/sleeper/roof structural assembly for a truck-tractor vehicle according to the present invention provides greater manufacturing flexibility and unrestricted access between a cab/sleeper unit. The structural assembly includes a top-free cab unit having a front wall, opposing side walls, and a bottom portion. A top-free sleeper unit positioned behind the cab unit has a rear wall, opposing side walls, and a bottom portion. Fasteners couple the cab unit and the sleeper unit such that an upwardly opened carriage assembly is formed. A unitary roof member fixedly encloses the opened carriage assembly and forms an integral modular unit. The unitary roof member has a front portion connected to the front wall of the cab unit, a rear portion connected to the rear wall of the sleeper unit, and opposing side portions connected to the opposing side walls of the cab and sleeper units. The cab unit, sleeper unit and roof member are not independent structures; however, when they are assembled, the units constitute a durable cab/sleeper unit.
Abstract:
An interconnect for attaching a module such as a PCB or a multi-chip module to a circuit substrate comprises a member elongated in a longitudinal direction. The member has at least a first elongated side and a second opposed and generally parallel elongated side. The first and second sides extend in the longitudinal direction. Each of the first and second sides have at least one portion formed by a series of depressions in the respective first and second sides. The depressions extend inwardly from a first outer surface of the first side and a second outer surface of the second side. The depressions are metallized to form leads. A circuit assembly is also provided comprising a multi-chip module having a plurality of electronic elements; a circuit substrate supporting thereon a conductive circuit pattern adapted for connection to the multi-chip module and at least one the interconnects for attaching the multi-chip module to the circuit pattern on the circuit substrate. A process for making the interconnect and a process for assembling the circuit assembly is also provided.
Abstract:
An improvement in a yarn-holding apparatus for a circular knitting machine which functions to hold a plurality of yarn ends in the ready position at the air shoe near the machine yarn feeds so that the held yarn ends can be selectively engaged by the yarn feeds and thereafter introduced to the needles of the machine for knitting. An air input station receives air from an airflow source and has a manifold into which the introduced air is directed. A number of air ports are connected with and extend from the manifold thus sending a number of airflow streams into the airflow passage where the yarns are introduced. The directed airflow streams converge to maintain the held yarns in a stationary and tangle-free condition and enable the positive engagement of the yarns by the yarn feeds.
