摘要: A framework for developing applications is described herein. The framework may be a web integrated development environment (IDE) with a preview function via a browser. The IDE includes a native feature runtime engine with plugin application programming interfaces (APIs), such as Cordova APIs. Browser implementations of the plugin are also provided. The browser implementations enable a hybrid application to be previewed in the browser and access native functions without crashing the IDE.

摘要: Architecture for playing a document converted into an audio format to a user of an audio-output capable device. The user can interact with the device to control play of the audio document such as pause, rewind, forward, etc. In more robust implementation, the audio-output capable device is a mobile device (e.g., cell phone) having a microphone for processing voice input. Voice commands can then be input to control play (“reading”) of the document audio file to pause, rewind, read paragraph, read next chapter, fast forward, etc. A communications server (e.g., email, attachments to email, etc.) transcodes text-based document content into an audio format by leveraging a text-to-speech (TTS) engine. The transcoded audio files are then transferred to mobile devices through viable transmission channels. Users can then play the audio-formatted document while freeing hand and eye usage for other tasks.

摘要: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for a mobile document viewer. Techniques for toggling between document formats are described. A request is received from a user to view a document on a mobile device. The document is retrieved in a first visual format and displayed. A request is received from the user to view the document in a second visual format. The document is retrieved in the second visual format and displayed. The document viewer contains three primary areas. A navigation bar has the most frequently used operations. A page content area follows the navigation bar and can display at least a portion of a document being viewed on the document viewer. A menu area follows the page content area and contains operations that can be performed on the document by a user. Techniques for optimizing the display of images within a document are also described.

摘要: A height-adjustable apparatus, including a chassis, an actuation unit, an adjustment unit, and an elastic unit, is disclosed. The chassis has a positioning unit and an opening. The actuation unit, movably disposed on the chassis, had a first hole and a first engagement part. The first hole accommodates the positioning unit. The adjustment unit passes through the opening and is movably disposed on the chassis. The adjustment unit has a plurality of second engagement parts. The elastic unit is disposed in the first hole and between the positioning unit and the actuation unit. When the actuation unit is actuated, the first engagement part disengages with the second engagement part to allow movement of adjustment unit. When the actuation unit is non-actuated, the elastic unit forces the first engagement part to engage with a selected second engagement part to lock the adjustment unit.

摘要: A data recovery circuit for use in a data receiving system to recover an m-bit data stream from an n-bit data stream. The data recovery circuit comprises an n-bit data reconstruction circuit for selecting a data boundary in response to a boundary selection signal and producing a reconstructed n-bit data stream based on the boundary data, a FIFO buffer circuit for temporarily storing the reconstructed n-bit data stream and reading out the m-bit data stream, and a detection circuit for detecting whether the m-bit data stream from the FIFO buffer circuit conforms to a predetermined format and thereby producing a boundary selection signal for controlling the data boundary selection of the n-bit data reconstruction circuit.

摘要: A fingerprint image is divided into blocks of pixels. The blocks are determined to be within the foreground or background of the image. Poor quality images are examined to determine if the imaging process is corrupted, e.g. by a wet finger, by determining if a smudginess measure is above a smudginess threshold. For each foreground block, a mean intensity (.mu.) of pixels is computed for those pixels whose intensities are smaller than the mean intensity of all pixels within the respective foreground block. Further the standard deviation (.cuberoot.) of intensities of all pixels within the respective foreground block is computed. For a foreground block with good contrast, .mu. is small and .cuberoot. is large. But for a block with low contrast due to smudginess, .mu. is small and .cuberoot. is small. Subsequently, to measure the contrast (a contrast measure) within a block, a function of the product (C.sub.S) of corresponding .mu. and corresponding .cuberoot. is determined. A comparison is then made to determine whether a block is a smudged block. If the contrast measure is smaller than a smudginess threshold STH1, then the block is classified as a smudged block. If not, the block is classified as a non-smudged block. Embodiment, STH1 is set to 0.12. Lastly, the smudginess measure as the ratio of the number of smudged blocks to total number of foreground blocks is computed. If the resulting ratio is larger than a second threshold, STH2, a smudged impression is reported.
