    摘要: A liquid developer includes: a carrier liquid; and toner particles that are dispersed in the carrier liquid and that includes a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer, a styrene-based thermoplastic resin, and a quaternary ammonium base-containing polymer having a constituent unit expressed by Chemical Formula I: wherein R1 represents hydrogen or an alkyl group with a carbon number equal to or less than 3, R2 represents an alkylene group with a carbon number equal to or less than 18, R3 to R5 represent an alkyl group or an aralkyl group with a carbon number equal to or less than 18, X represents —COO— or —CONH—, and Y− represents a halogen ion or an anion having a —COO— group or a —SO3— group in the structure thereof.

    摘要: The present invention provides a magnetic polymer particle, including a magnetic powder; a crosslinked polymer of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer; and a non-crosslinked polymer, in which an amount of the magnetic powder with respect to a total amount of the magnetic polymer particle is in a range of about 2.5 to about 50% by mass, the ethylenically unsaturated monomer includes a monomer having a hydroxyl group and a hydrophobic monomer which is free from a hydroxyl group, and an amount of the hydroxyl groups included in the crosslinked polymer and the non-crosslinked polymer is in a range of about 0.1 to about 5.0 mmol/g with respect to a total amount of the crosslinked polymer and the non-crosslinked polymer. Further, the invention provides a method of producing the magnetic polymer particle, and an aqueous dispersion, a cartridge, and an image forming apparatus, all of which use the magnetic polymer particle.

    摘要: The developer for electrostatic photography according to the present invention comprises toner particles containing a thermoplastic resin and a colorant dispersed in an electrically insulating carrier having a melting point above room temperature wherein the thermoplastic resin is insoluble in the electrically insulating carrier at a temperature below the melting point of the electrically insulating carrier but becomes solvated with the electrically insulating carrier at a temperature above the melting point of the electrically insulating carrier. The present invention provides a developer for electrostatic photography, which enables to reduce the emission of vapor, to carry out a fixing treatment at a higher rate, to reduce the amount of energy required for fixing treatment and to create a high-quality image even after repeated use of the developer.
