The variable inductor unit has a first inductor; a current signal generator for detecting an electric signal denoting current flowing to the first inductor, and generating a current signal based on the electric signal; and a second inductor that receives the current signal. The first inductor and second inductor are disposed to a predetermined magnetically coupled position, and the variable inductor unit sets the inductance of the first inductor desirably.

A Phase-Locked Loop (PPL) circuit includes a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), a reference signal oscillator, first and second frequency dividers, a phase comparator, a charge pump and a loop filter. The VCO has a plural number of oscillation frequency boards and oscillates according to a control voltage in a selected band. The first frequency divider frequency divides the output signal of the VCO. The second frequency divider frequency divides the reference signal outputted from the reference signal oscillator. The phase comparator detects the phase difference between the output signal of the first and second frequency dividers and outputs a phase difference signal. The charge pump inputs and outputs a current generated by a gain that was set depending on the selected band based on the phase difference signal. The loop filter increases or decreases the voltage with a specified low pass filter.

The output of the first amplifier (10) is then turned on or off by a mode switching signal. A change in gain resulting from turning on and off the first amplifier (10) is corrected by the third amplifier (30).

A modulation current terminal is connected to an anode side connection point of a first and a second varactor diode. A first resistor is connected between the connection point and an anode side connection point (grounding voltage) of a third and a fourth varactor diode. Voltage deciding the oscillation frequency is input from the voltage input terminal via the second resistor to the cathode side connection point of the first and the third varactor diode and via the third resistor to the cathode side connection point of the second and the fourth varactor diode.
