A container carrying apparatus capable of carrying out containers at high speed with reliability wherein the container is filled with juice, etc. and is manufactured by a filling and packaging apparatus, particularly by a high speed filling and packaging apparatus. The containers are carried out by the container carrying apparatus comprising an intermittent driving container carriage conveyor which nips each container at front and rear portions thereof in a carrying direction while each container having a top and a bottom is carried in an upside down state, and which is movable in a direction crossing at right angles with the carrying direction, a cylindrical guide member extending in a direction crossing at right angles with the conveyor, a guide rod provided in the cylindrical guide member, and a pressing member for discharging containers from the conveyor and pressing containers in the cylindrical guide member.

There is provided a superhigh-speed filling and packaging apparatus having a high performance capable of manufacturing more than 8,000 packs per hour without leaving fluid at sealed parts of the containers. The filling and packaging apparatus fills a packaging material web formed in a tubular shape with fluid to manufacture package containers. The apparatus includes a lateral sealing apparatus for laterally sealing the tubular web filled with the fluid at intervals, each corresponding to one container, and a cutting apparatus, disposed under and remote from the lateral sealing apparatus, for cutting sealed parts of the containers while the containers are suspended to separate the containers.

A container sealing apparatus comprising a conveyor for transporting containers, a sealer for sealing an opening edge portion of each of the containers with a closure material supplied adjacent to the container during transport by the conveyor, and a trimmer for blanking out a closure from the closure material affixed to the container, along the edge portion, the trimmer having a lifter for lifting the container from a path of transport of the container, a holder having a support for supporting the edge portion of the container lifted by the lifter and a cutter clearance groove formed externally of the support, and a cutter movable upward and downward so as to bring a cutting edge thereof into and out of the groove.

A container transport conveyor comprising different kinds of container holders for different kinds of containers, and means for moving the holders along a predetermined path intermittently by a specified pitch at a time. The holders are divided into groups each comprising the combination of the different kinds of holders each one in number. The groups are arranged in succession along the path and identical in the order of the kinds of holders in the group. The spacing between the holders of the same kind in the groups adjacent to each other is equal to the pitch the holders are moved at a time.

A packaging machine comprising a conveyor drivingly movable intermittently for transporting containers and having a capping station, the conveyor having a plurality of holders each adapted to support the container at its opening rim portion, the holders being stoppable at the capping station one after another; an assembly for capping the container by fitting the skirt of a cap to the opening rim portion of the container at a capping position above the path of travel of the holders in the capping station; and an assembly for centering the cap skirt and the container opening rim portion relative to each other for capping.

The package container forming flap apparatus lateral seal bars for laterally sealing a tubular packaging material, a pair of opposing fixed plates which are disposed respectively over each lateral seal bar in parallel with a seal surface thereof, forming arms for turning about axes which are parallel to a longitudinal direction of the tubular packaging material, and movable plates which are secured to the forming arms and together with the fixed plates to shape the tubular packaging material in a rectangular shape in cross section.

An apparatus for filling blocks into containers individually by placing the container as turned upside down over the block and inverting the container with the block fitted therein. A block feeder and a container feeder are arranged as horizontally spaced apart from each other. An intermittenly driven container-inverting slat conveyor has slats each adapted to stop at the block feeder and then at the container feeder while traveling along an upper path of transport of the conveyor.

An apparatus for transporting solid masses includes a continuously drivable first conveyor, intermittently drivable second conveyor and bridge plate interconnecting the transport path of the first conveyor and the second conveyor. The first conveyor has push bars for pushing a solid mass along the transport path of the first conveyor and forward from the terminal end of such transport path. The second conveyor has holders and means for transporting the holders, at each time of transporting, a distance twice the pitch of the holders. The solid mass is pushed out on to the bridge plate, slidingly pushed forward on the plate by a main pusher and thereby forwardly pushed out from the front end of the plate. The bridge plate has a by-pass gate, which is provided with a movable gate plate for opening and closing the gate. While the solid mass is being pushed by the main pusher, another solid mass immediately following the mass pushed by the pusher is pushed out from the first conveyor to a position over the gate by a subpusher.

An apparatus for measuring out and filling a particulate or granular material comprises an intermittently drivable container conveyor extending through a filling station for a plurality of containers as arranged in a feed direction to be fed to and stopped at the filling station at a time by the operation of the conveyor, a horizontal feed roller disposed at the filling station and extending across the path of transport by the conveyor thereabove, the feed roller being formed in its outer surface with measuring pockets spaced axially of the roller and equal in number to the number of containers stopped at the filling station, a particulate or granular material hopper disposed above the feed roller, and a filling chute disposed between the conveyor and the feed roller. The chute has a plurality of upward inlets arranged axially of the roller so as to communicate with the respective pockets when the pockets are directed downward and a plurality of downward outlets arranged along the transport path so as to be opposed from above to the respective containers stopped at the filling station.
