The present invention relates to an improved method of labeling squeeze tubes. The method involves adhering a label to a tube, which is optionally treated under conditions which achieve a dyne level of at least 38, so that the label adheres to the tube. Upon sealing of the tube to generate the squeeze tube, the label covers the sealed area thereby maximizing the labeled area of the squeeze tube.

A jaw-like cylindrical tool for producing a strong electromagnetic field for causing a Curie point heater to be energized having a curved cross-section that brings the two edges of the jaw-like structure into contact. Closely spaced conductors lie along the inner surface of the structure transverse to its axis while widely spaced conductors lie transverse to said axis along the outer surface of the structure. The inner surface of the structure has a plurality of axially extending ferrite rods lying immediately adjacent the inner surface conductors. The inner and outer surface conductors are connected so that the currents flow in opposite directions, the outer conductors reducing electromagnetic radiation while the ferrites and inner conductor spacing produce a strong central magnetic field irrespective of the field created by the opposing field produced by the outer conductors. The tool may be manufactured by laying each ferrite rod longitudinally along the flat surface of a D-shaped mandrel with the rods lying side by side transversely. Conductors are wrapped transversely around the curved surface of the mandrel and over the ferrite rods. The rods and conductors are bonded to one another, removed from the mandrel and the resulting structure curved until the longitudinal edges of the structure are in contact with one another.

The components are attached to the amalgamation plate with the joining tool, such that the first component, amalgamation plate, and the second component are fixedly attached to one another, and the amalgamation plate may be substantially surrounded by the first component and the second component, such that it is hidden from exposure. Portions of the amalgamation plate may be embedded into the components via rotation and/or linear force. A portion of the amalgamation plate may be recessed within the joining tool or an anvil before attaching the amalgamation plate to the either component.

A method of repairing a polymeric composite workpiece. The method comprises identifying a localized area of the polymeric composite workpiece having a defect. A plurality of three dimensional interface structures are aligned adjacent at least a portion of the localized area. The method includes applying a polymeric composite patch to the localized area such that the interface structures are disposed between the polymeric composite workpiece and the polymeric composite patch. An alternating electromagnetic field may be introduced to selectively induce localized heating of the interface structures. The localized heating softens regions of the polymeric composite workpiece and the polymeric composite patch adjacent the interface structures, causing the interface structures to penetrate a distance into the respective polymeric composite workpiece and the polymeric composite patch.

The method is a method for connecting two or more members together, at least one of which is a fiber reinforced resin member containing a thermoplastic resin and also containing a reinforcing fiber material that serves as a heating element in the thermoplastic resin, at a position of superposition. The method includes pressing the members against each other while heating the members at a position of superposition using one of induction heating or dielectric heating and thus melting the thermoplastic resin with heat generated from the fiber material that serves as the heating element, thereby connecting the members together.

The first component of the article has an outer surface that includes at least one receptor area disposed directly above the fusion bond. The receptor area can have a tactile property that is a substantially equal to a tactile property of the outer surface surrounding the receptor area.

A method of welding thermoplastic resin with a high frequency welder, comprising the step of: putting an exothermic object to generate heat and an adherend made of thermoplastic resin not to be molten when high frequency waves are applied, between electrodes of a high frequency welder and thereafter generating high frequency waves between the electrodes. The method of the present invention enables to weld thermoplastic resin having a low dielectric loss which can not be welded with a high frequency welder.
