Abstract:
A biomedical electrode connector for coupling with a biomedical electrode of the type including an electrode base and a male terminal projecting from the electrode base is provided.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides hydrogels that are suitable for drug delivery. In embodiments, hydrogels of the present disclosure may be used for transdermal delivery of bioactive agents, including drugs. The hydrogels of the present disclosure may also be useful as conductive compositions for use with electrodes.
Abstract:
An electrode is provided that includes a conductive member defining a first side and a second side; a conductive composition disposed on the first side of the conductive member, wherein the conductive composition includes a therapeutically effective quantity of an exfoliant; and an electrical lead in electrical communication with the conductive member. The conductive composition is capable of reducing a level of an impedance of the skin of the subject.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides electrodes that possess components capable of indicating to an end-user when the electrode is in need of replacement. In embodiments, the electrodes include a hydrogel in combination with a pH indicator which changes its color or opacity upon repeated use of the electrode, thereby indicating an appropriate time for changing or replacing the electrode.
Abstract:
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, an automatic external defibrillator configured to deliver electrical pulses and/or shocks to a heart of a patient during a cardiac emergency is provided and includes a housing supporting an electrical connector; a defibrillator electrode delivery system supported on the housing; and a pair of defibrillation electrode pads supported by the defibrillator electrode delivery system. Each of the pair of defibrillation electrode pads is pre-connected to the electrical connector of the housing. A hydrogel layer of each defibrillation electrode pad is retained by the defibrillator electrode delivery system in such a manner so as to reduce a moisture vapor transmission rate thereof.
Abstract:
An electrode for selective attachment to at least one of a garment and a subject is provided. The electrode includes a conductive member defining a first side and a second side; a conductive composition disposed on the first side of the conductive member, wherein the conductive composition has a first adhesive strength; and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the second side of the conductive member, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive has a second adhesive strength that is greater than the adhesive strength of the conductive composition. The electrode is interposable between the garment and the subject such that the conductive composition is adhered to the subject and the pressure sensitive adhesive is adhered to the garment. In use, upon removal of the garment from the subject the electrode is removed only from the subject.
Abstract:
A medical apparatus includes a substrate member and an applicator member. Substrate member includes a medical device and an adhesive layer for adhering to body tissue. Applicator member is releasably attached to the substrate member and is adapted for grasping by a clinician to facilitate application of the substrate member to body tissue.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides electrodes that possess components capable of indicating to an end-user when the electrode is in need of replacement. The electrode includes a substrate and a conductive composition on at least a portion of a surface of the substrate. The conductive composition includes at least one hydrogel and at least one component that precipitates from the hydrogel after repeated use of the electrode, thereby providing an indication to replace the electrode.
