A thermoplastic resin composition having excellent appearance and moldability contains:(A) 1 to 99% by weight of a polyphenylene ether resin,(B) 99 to 1% by weight of a polystyrene resin prepared by copolymerization of: (i) a styrene compound, 100 to 500 ppm by weight of a compound containing 2-6 vinyl groups, and if necessary, a compound capable of copolymerizing with the styrene compound, or (ii) a polystyrene resin obtained by copolymerization of a styrene compound, 100 to 500 ppm by weight of a compound containing 2-6 vinyl groups, a first rubber, and if necessary, a compound capable of copolymerizing with said styrene compound, or a mixture of (i) and (ii). Component (C) is a second rubber which can be present in amounts of about 0 to 100 parts by weight relative to (A) and (B).

Further provided is a method for producing a thermoplastic resin composition comprising a polyphenylene ether resin and a polyamide resin which is much improved in slidability.

The canned motor having the stator provided with the porous insulator is produced by a method wherein a mixture of filler in particulate form and resin in powder form is poured in a space in the stator sealed by the can, and the mixture is heated to allow the resin to cure to form the filler and resin into a porous body, to achieve molding of the stator and provide it with an insulator in the form of the porous body.

In a submersible motor, a liquid is filled into its rotor chamber, a shaft to which a rotor is fixed is supported on a frame by sleeve bearings, and a diaphragm for controlling the pressure within the rotor chamber is disposed at the lower portion of the frame. Chambers communicating with the rotor chamber, are disposed above an upper sleeve bearing and the chambers accomodate a reserve liquid having a volume larger than that of the diaphragm. Therefor, even if the pressure within the rotor chamber rises and the diaphragm is deformed, the upper sleeve bearing is continuously filled with the liquid, thereby enabling continuous lubrication and cooling.

The object is to provide a method for producing a film excellent in a quality of odorless or free from deteriorating taste of food contained in a package of the extruded molded article by using an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer excellent in extrusion molding processability. This object is achieved by a method for producing an extruded molded article comprising a step of extruding a copolymer of ethylene and α-olefin of from 3 to 20 carbon atoms having an activation energy for melt flow of not less than 50 kJ/mol under one of the following conditions: (a) a temperature of melted resin at die gap of T-die is not more than 200° C., (b) a temperature of melted resin at die gap of tubular tie is not more than 170° C.
