A polybutadiene rubber composition having an improved green strength is disclosed, which comprises a polybutadiene having a content of cis-1,4 bond of at least 70%, an average chain length of 1,4-bond of 110.about.450 and a molecular weight distribution represented by a ratio of weight-average molecular weight to number-average molecular weight of not less than 5.0.

Rubber compositions having improved tensile strength, elongation and modulus of unvulcanized rubbers without deteriorating physical properties of vulcanized rubbers are prepared by utilizing synergistic effect of addition of a filler having high reinforcing property and alkadiene sulfones in given amounts to natural rubber and/or dienic synthetic rubbers.

The present invention provides an oxidation catalyst for bleaching containing a component (a) which is an anion caused from a chelating agent having less than or equal to coordination position 5 and/or the chelating agent, and a component (b) which is a copper and/or manganese compound; and a binder compound (c); a hydrogen peroxide-based compound (d) which dissolves in water and generates hydrogen peroxide, the bleaching composition containing a granulated product or a molded product in which at least the component (b) and the component (c) are granulated or molded together. According to the invention, an oxidation catalyst that promotes the oxidation effect of hydrogen peroxide-based compounds with a trace amount of the composition, and has excellent effects of suppressing the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide-based compounds and suppressing coloration of the catalyst itself, and a bleaching composition containing the oxidation catalyst can be utilized.

Natural rubber contains a viscosity stabilizer for the natural rubber, and the viscosity stabilizer includes a hydrazide compound of the following general formula, R--CONHNH.sub.2 wherein R is an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms. As a result, gelation (storage hardening) is suppressed and a decrease in molecular weight is prevented.

A low heat generation type rubber composition is disclosed, which comprises at least one rubber selected from the group consisting essentially of natural rubber and a synthetic diene rubber, a reinforcing filler, and a thiadiazole compound expressed by the following general formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same as or differ from each other, denote a mercapto group, an amino group and a trifluoromethyl group. The reinforcing filler and the thiadiazole compound are contained in amounts of 20 to 150 parts by weight and 0.1 to 10 parts by weight, respectively.

A rubber composition containing a specifically limited imidazole compound or imidazoline compound, or benzimidazole or its specifically limited derivative has a large tan .delta. at high temperature range, and a tire having a tread using such rubber composition is prevented from being lowered in the value of tan .delta. due to the temperature rising during the running and has an improved grip performance during the high speed running. The use of Bronsted acid in combination with the imidazole, imidazoline or benzimidazole can obviate the drawback of poor scorch resistance of a rubber composition containing the imidazole, imidazoline or benzimidazole alone, and the resulting rubber composition has a very large tan .delta. at high temperature range, and a tire having a tread using the rubber composition has a remarkably improved grip performance during the high speed running.

A rubber composition having improved reinforcing properties and low heat build-up is disclosed, which comprises 20-150 parts by weight of carbon black having IA of not less than 60 mg/g and DPB of not less than 75 ml/100 g and 0.1-3 parts by weight of at least one of p-nitroso-N-methylaniline, p-nitroso-N-ethylaniline and p-nitroso-N-propylaniline, based on 100 parts by weight of rubber.

A pneumatic radial tire comprising: (1) a cylindrical tread portion; (2) side portions located at both sides of the tread portion and extending inwardly in the radial direction; (3) bead portions located at the inner edge portions of the side portions; (4) a carcass comprising at least one ply which is reinforced with a belt arranged on the inside of the tread portion, wherein said belt and/or said carcass ply is reinforced by steel cords; and (5) a rubber composition surrounding the steel cords, wherein said rubber composition comprises: (a) 100 parts by weight of at least one rubber selected from the group consisting of natural rubber and dienic synthetic rubber; (b) 0.1-5.0 parts by weight of alkadiene sulfone; and (c) 0.05-1.0 parts by metal weight of at least one metal salt of an organic acid selected from the group consisting of cobalt salt of an organic acid and nickel salt of an organic acid.
