Abstract: A tape includes an electrically conductive adhesive first layer having opposite outermost first and second major surfaces. The first layer includes an electrically conductive porous medium and an adhesive disposed in, and extending through a thickness of, the porous medium to define at the first major surface, first regions of exposed adhesive and first regions of exposed porous medium and to define at the second major surface, second regions of exposed adhesive and second regions of exposed porous medium. The second major surface has a higher fraction of exposed porous medium than the first major surface. The porous medium can be a nonwoven fabric and the regions of exposed porous medium can be regions of exposed fibers.

Abstract: Curable compositions are provided including a curable system that requires a thermally generated amine to cause curing of the system, and a self-assembled particle distributed in the curable system. The curable system contains at least one reactive moiety and the self-assembled particle comprises a reactive amine ionically bound to a chromonic network. A multilayer article is also provided, including a substrate, a chromonic amine layer disposed on the substrate, and a curable layer disposed on the chromonic amine layer. Methods of making a cured composition and of adhering two substrates together are further provided.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a compressible gasket, an electronic product comprising the compressible gasket and a method for preparing the compressible gasket. The compressible gasket of the present disclosure comprises an open-cell foam matrix and a filling medium which fills and is cured in the open cells of the open-cell foam, the filling medium comprising a curable adhesive and one or more types of micrometer particles dispersed therein. The one or more types of micrometer particles comprise at least one of thermally conductive micrometer particles and thermally and electrically conductive micrometer particles, and optionally comprise at least one of flame retardant micrometer particles, electrically conductive micrometer particles and electromagnetic wave absorption micrometer particles. The compressible gasket of the present invention can provide shock and vibration absorption and sealing functions and also meet requirements on system thermal management design and/or electromagnetic compatibility design.

Abstract: An electrically conductive adhesive layer includes an adhesive material; a plurality of electrically conductive first particles dispersed in the adhesive material and having a first shape; and a plurality of electrically conductive second particles dispersed in the adhesive material and having a second shape different from the first shape. A ratio of a total weight of the first particles to a total weight of the second particles is in a range from about 2 to about 10. The adhesive layer has an average thickness in a range from about 5 micrometers to about 35 micrometers. An electrical conductance of the adhesive layer in a thickness, but not in an in-plane, direction is at least 5% greater than a comparative adhesive layer having the same construction except that it does not include the second particles.

Abstract: An electrically conductive multilayer film for providing an electrical path between two conductive surfaces includes a plastic backing layer, an electrically conductive layer disposed on a first side of the plastic backing layer, and a recovery layer disposed on an opposite second side of the plastic backing layer. An average thickness of the multilayer film is less than about 100 microns. A hollow gasket can be formed from the multilayer film by winding or bending the multilayer film into a flexible hollow closed loop. When the multilayer film is wound to form a flexible closed loop having an outside diameter of no more than about 7 mm with the conductive layer forming an outside layer of the loop, a resistance of the closed loop across a diameter of the closed loop remains less than about 2Ω when the loop is compressed across the diameter by at least 20%.
