摘要: A cellular communications system uses FCS (fast cell switching) for forward communications links, for communicating data from respective cells or sectors to a mobile terminal, in response to FCS requests by the terminal on a reverse communications link. An FCS rate, or rate of said requests, is varied in dependence upon a C/I reliability criterion, which represents a reliability with which C/I is determined and predicted by the mobile terminal, for example being either of two selected rates depending upon a comparison of the criterion with a threshold. The criterion can be, for example, a determined speed of the mobile terminal, or an averaged probability that a C/I prediction error is less than a predetermined amount.

摘要: A mobile station transmits sub-packets at a specified transmission rate or an autonomous transmission rate based on a PERSISTENCE bit. The mobile station increments, decrements, or does not change the transmission rate when the PERSISTENCE bit is a second logic state and a rate control bit (RCB) value is a first, a second, or a third value. Another embodiment of the present invention includes an ALL_ACID_IND bit that instructs the mobile station to adjust the specified transmission rate for either a single H-ARQ channel or for all H-ARQ channels. In an alternate embodiment, the mobile station uses the RCB in conjunction with a NAK to adjust a transmission-to-pilot ratio. After the NAK, the mobile station monitors the RCB value to increase the transmission rate, decrease the transmission rate, or not to change the transmission rate of subsequent sub-packets of the same data packet.

摘要: A method of generating a network slice is provided. The method comprises a network slice orchestrator (NWSO) receiving from a network slice manager (NWSM) a request for a new network slice, the NWSO adding a new service to the new network slice, the NWSO determining a network slice descriptor (NWSD) for the new network slice, the NWSO transmitting to a resource orchestrator (RO) a request for an instantiation of the network slice using enhanced network function virtualization management and orchestration (E-MANO). A method of modifying a network slice is also provided. The method comprises a NWSO receiving from a NWSM a request to add a new service to a network slice, the NWSO adding a new service to the network slice, the NWSO determining a NWSD for the network slice with the added service, and the NWSO transmitting to a RO a request for an instantiation of the added service on the network slice using E-MANO. A method of terminating a network slice is also provided. The method comprises a NWSO receiving from a NWSM a request to terminate a network slice, the NWSO determining the subnetworks to terminate, and the NWSO transmitting to a RO a request for a termination of the slice specific network functions (NFs).

摘要: A hierarchical link scheduling system and method is provided. A central controller gathers network information, including global parameters and long term demands, and determines an initial schedule for link activation based on these variables. A scheduler receives the initial schedule and modifies the initial schedule based on local parameters, inter-schedule negotiation, or other short term or localized requests. The scheduler activates the links according to the modified schedule. Accordingly, the scheduler can be responsible for modifying the initial schedule provided by central controller with localized or short term requests or demands, and providing the necessary parameters to enable link activation between nodes according to the modified schedule.

摘要: Transmission of uplink control message for a wireless system. The uplink control message may be encoded according to one of multiple possible schemes. The choice of encoding scheme may be made based on the control message size and/or based on the available transmission resources and/or based on the detection scheme used on the receiving end. A modulation scheme may also be selected based on such factors. CDM may be used for certain control messages. Block code encoding, such as Reed-Muller encoding may be used for certain control messages. Different transmission resources may be allocated for different control message uses. The encoding specifics may be selected to obtain a certain hamming distance and/or size of the encoded message or based on other factors.
