    摘要: A magnetic head device which can accommodate higher data transfer rates can be implemented by using lead wires. A magnetic head device 1 according to the present invention includes a head slider 3 having a magnetic head 2 having a data reading element and a data writing element, a reading lead RL for transferring data between the data reading element and external devices, the reading lead configured by a pair of lead wires which are twisted together, and a writing lead WL for transferring data between the data writing element and external devices, the writing lead configured by a pair of lead wires which are untwisted but arranged in parallel to each other. Thus, the magnetic head device can accommodate higher data transfer rates by using the writing lead WL configured by a pair of lead wires which are untwisted but arranged in parallel to each other.

    摘要: A load beam for a data storage device having a first end operatively configured for connecting to a head actuator arm and a second end operatively configured for supporting a signal transducer head is provided. The load beam has a flange with a bent portion. The bent portion is arranged by bending the standing portion of the flange in the middle thereof outwardly from the load beam. The bent portion is arranged so that it progressively becomes wider as it runs toward the end of the load beam. The flange is adapted to be nearly flush with a flat base surface at the end of the load beam so as not to have a standing portion and such that signal wires may be connected to a signal transducer head without being unduly bent.

    摘要: A magnetic disk drive is to be provided wherein a ramp and a magnetic disk do not overlap each other and both rigidity and dynamic characteristics of a suspension are maintained. In one embodiment, a ramp and an actuator lying at a retractive position are spaced away from and do not overlap an outer peripheral end of a magnetic disk. A tab is formed centrally of a front end of a load beam and is bent in U shape. Flanges are formed along both longitudinal edges of the load beam. An aperture is formed in a front portion of the load beam. The aperture permits the tab to be machined in a desired shape. An aperture is formed behind the aperture. The aperture is used to clamp a head in a wire bonding step for the head. The apertures and are not formed in an integrally contiguous manner but are separated from each other by a bridge portion.

    摘要: In attaching a load beam to a carriage, the swage attachment is used between the carriage and a mountplate, while the load beam is attached to the mountplate by welding and other binding means, to create a structure in which the load beam does not come into direct contact with the swage part, so that a structure is obtained in which the load beam is hardly subject to deformation or other direct influences from the swage operation. In addition, by forming the attaching plate side of the load beam to envelope a carriage, or by extending both sides of the load beam from the central portion in the longitudinal direction toward the carriage, a structure improved in the stability of load beam attachment is obtained.

An integrated lead suspension comprises a tail end having a plurality of conductive pads positioned thereat. The plurality of conductive pads includes a first and second dual stage actuator (DSA) pad. The first and second DSA pads are electrically coupled to a conductive member by way of conductive vias. The conductive member may be a stainless steel island. The first DSA pad conducts a signal to a first terminal at each of a plurality of dual stage actuators, while a second terminal at each of the plurality of dual stage actuators is connected to ground.

    摘要: In a suspension used in an actuator of a hard disk drive, a limiter mechanism is to be provided which produces little dust and which can restrict deformation of a gimbals even against a strong shock. According to one embodiment, when a weak shock is applied to the suspension, a limiter tab and a back side of a load beam come into contact with each other to prevent a gimbals from being largely deformed by the shock. Since deformation of the gimbals is restricted by surface contact of both load beam and limiter tab, the generation of dust is suppressed effectively. When a strong shock is applied to the suspension, the limiter tab is deformed and a projecting portion of a restrictive aperture and an end portion of a limiter tab aperture come into contact with each other. The projecting portion retains the limiter tab to restrict a further deformation of the gimbals.
