摘要： A small and thin storage device that can be substituted for IC memory card is disclosed. When the recording medium cartridge is inserted into the frame of the storage device, a slide member in a hub moves parallel to the frame and retracts a shaft under restriction of a restriction member provided in the recording medium cartridge so that the hub and the shaft engage. When the recording medium cartridge is ejected from the frame, the slide member moves parallel to the frame and the shaft under restriction of the restriction member so as to release the engagement of the shaft and the hub.

摘要： A small and thin storage device that can be substituted for IC memory card is disclosed. 摘要： A recording medium cartridge includes a disk-shaped recording medium and a case housing the recording medium. A window is provided in the case to expose a portion of the recording medium. A shutter is provided on the case to close and expose the window. A latch is movable in a direction perpendicular to the direction of relative movement of the shutter and is linked to the shutter by a band such that movement of the band causes the shutter to selectively close or expose the window. In one embodiment, the recording medium cartridge has a non-zero thickness equal to or less than approximately 2.0 mm.

The flexible disk drive includes a cabinet for insertion into a card slot in the information processing apparatus, a mechanism for inserting and ejecting a recording medium cartridge containing a recording medium, a head for accessing the recording medium, a head drive actuator for moving the head, a recording medium drive actuator for driving the recording medium, a position device for positioning the recording medium in a predetermined position, and a drive force transfer mechanism for transferring the driving force of the recording medium drive actuator to the recording medium. The components of the flexible disk drive have thin profiles to achieve the form factor of the type-2 card.

摘要： A small-sized and thin flexible recording system including a flexible disk drive and a recording disk is provided. The recording disk has a disk-shaped recording medium and a recording medium cartridge rotatably receiving therein the recording medium. The flexible disk drive includes a magnetic head for recording information into the recording medium or reproducing information recorded in the recording medium, a carriage mechanism for moving the magnetic head, a recording medium drive motor for rotating the recording medium, a frame having an insertion opening through which the recording disk is inserted, a recording medium mounting portion formed adjacent the insertion opening in a direction in which the recording disk is inserted for mounting thereon the recording disk, and a recording-disk ejection mechanism for ejecting the recording disk from the frame. The recording disk has a write-protect instructing member which comprises a hole formed in an end face of the recording medium cartridge disposed at one side thereof from which the recording disk is inserted into the frame, and an element for opening and closing the hole. The flexible disk drive has a write-protect detector provided on the disk mounting portion at its one end from which the recording disk is inserted into the flexible disk drive for detecting permission or inhibition of writing into the recording medium based on the open or closed state of the hole.

A rotating part of the rotary transformer in the head assembly receives and sends a signal to the magnetic head and a fixing part of the rotary transformer is connected to a reading/writing circuit. On the card of the present invention, which is usually rectangular, there are tracks defined by plural arcs. The arcs are on plural same-size circles whose centers are aligned on one line along the long side of the card. A magnetic card or an optical card can be used for the present invention.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a low cost, high performance, thin structure rotary motor for driving medium used in magnetic disk drive unit, optical disk drive unit or the like, in order to improve the productivity of terminating processing and the reliability of the coils. Magnetic materials which are divided to a plurality of blocks or divided corresponding to respective magnetic pole teeth are connected by means of thin portions. The respective magnetic pole teeth are wound continuously with wire without cutting the wire at the positions in which the thin portions are connected. When a stator is assembled, a plurality of blocks or magnetic pole teeth are disposed on a substrate by separating or bending the thin portions.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a low cost, high performance, thin structure rotary motor for driving medium used in magnetic disk drive unit, optical disk drive unit or the like, in order to improve the productivity of terminating processing and the reliability of the coils.
