These ribonucleotides are unexpectedly highly active against Streptococcus hemolyticus and Staphylococcus aureus in vivo. These ribonucleotides are prepared by using resting cell or cell-free extracts of Streptomyces rochei, NRRL 3533, or cell-free extracts of Streptomyces coelicolor, NRRL 3532.
