Abstract:
In a method for operating a time-controlled bus system, which communicates in communication slots in a sequence of communication cycles, a processing instruction, which is automatically generated from input data and configuration data, is used for processing communication tasks on the basis of time signals, the input data containing identifiers to identify the communication tasks, cycle information to assign the communication tasks to at least one communication cycle, and time position information to terminate the communication tasks within at least one communication cycle, and the configuration data contain data which define the communication tasks and/or describe the bus system.
Abstract:
A motor vehicle roof with a roof plate which has a transparent plastic area to which a peripheral plastic edge is molded which is used especially as a cover visor and which extends downward. Furthermore, the roof plate has a nontransparent area with a holding frame for a functional element molded onto a bottom thereof
Abstract:
A device for measuring the maximum flow rate of a single forced expiration, comprises an elongated hollow body with inlet and outlet ends, a vane mounted to a shaft and rotatable within the body from a defined rest position, and an indicator to indicate maximum displacement of the vane from its rest position. The vane is shaped such that airflow from the inlet end past the vane causes the vane to rotate away from the rest position with the plane of rotation preferably being at about 90.degree. to the airflow through the elongated body.
Abstract:
Computerized methods, data processing systems, and computer program products for storing of data mining models (DMMs) are provided. A new DMM is created having at least one of the following characteristics: quality and complexity. The new DMM is handled as a candidate for storing in a storage device if a predefined criterion for the characteristics is met. The sum of the sizes of the new DMM and already stored DMMs is determined. In response to the sum falling below a storage limit, the new DMM is stored in the storage device. In response to the sum exceeding the storage limit, a decision is taken based on priorities of the DMMs which DMMs to store in the storage device. The priorities depend at least on access frequencies of the DMMs. Upon a data mining request, a corresponding DMM is determined and a user is requested to confirm that data mining is to proceed if quality of the determined DMM does not fulfill a further predefined criterion.

Abstract:
Toll-free calls are initiated using an alphanumeric call initiator (NAME) that is communicated to the network using a short message service (SMS), electronic mail message, a Worldwide Web interface or a voice connection to a voce recognition database. The NAME is translated to retrieve a directory number used to connect a calling party with the toll-free service subscriber. The directory number may be a toll-free number used to invoke incumbent translation services in the PSTN.
Abstract:
A system for enabling setup and control of conference calls using short message service (SMS) messages (SMs). The SMS messages may be used to set up, or control a scheduled or real-time conference call. The SMS messages can also be used to exercise real-time control over a conference call. Invitations can be sent in real time to add participants to a call in progress, or to transfer the call from any participant's telephone to another telephone connected to the PSTN.

Abstract:
A computerized method and system of document analysis. The method and system categorise documents according to a taxonomy. This is accomplished by rating training documents on a lower level by associating either of the following predicates to a training document: either correct, inbound, outbound, or unassigned, Rating categories are established on a lower level by determining precision/recall values for each category, and generating higher level category rating attributes from the lower-level rating steps. This is done by associating one or more of: aa) weak category, bb) existing source/sink relationship between categories, cc) close categories to the categories, and deriving an overall quality measure for the training base from the lower-level and higher-level rating step. The lower-level and higher-level evaluation results are stored. The quality measure is used to determine action proposals to improve the training base as either one or more of: aa) modifying the number of categories by adding a new category or deleting an existing category, or bb) splitting a category in one or more new categories, or cc) merging a category with another one, or dd) modifying the number of training documents of a category by adding or removing some of them, and optionally, providing a means to automatically carry out the above steps and review the results including the ability to restore the previous state.
