摘要: Isolators having a back-to-back configuration for providing electrical isolation between two circuits are described, in which multiple isolators formed on a single, monolithic substrate are connected in series to achieve a higher amount of electrical isolation for a single substrate than for isolators formed on separate substrates connected in series. Discrete dielectric regions positioned between isolator components forming an isolator provide electrical isolation between the isolator components as well as between the isolators formed on the substrate. The back-to-back isolator may provide one or more communication channels for transfer of information and/or power between different circuits.

摘要: A monolithic vapor chamber heat dissipating device uses a phase change liquid and one or more wicks to dissipate heat from a heat-generating system. The phase change liquid and one or more wicks may be directly coupled to the heat-generating system, or may be coupled to an intermediate evaporator substrate. The phase change liquid vaporizes as it absorbs heat from the heat-generating system. When the vapor rises and encounters a condenser substrate, the vapor condenses and transfers the heat to the condenser substrate. The condensed vapor is drawn by gravity and the one or more wicks to the phase change liquid coupled to the heat-generating system.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure may provide a circuit comprising a tank circuit. The tank circuit may include an inductor having a pair of terminals, a first pair of transistors, and a first pair of capacitors. Each transistor may be coupled between a respective terminal of the inductor and a reference voltage along a source-to-drain path of the transistor. Each capacitor may be provided in a signal path between an inductor terminal coupled to a respective first transistor in the first pair and a gate of a second transistor in the first pair.

摘要: A micro-isolator is described. The micro-isolator may include a first isolator element, a second isolator element, and a first dielectric material separating the first isolator element from the second isolator element. A second dielectric material may completely or partly encapsulate the second isolator element, or may be present at outer corners of the second isolator element. The second dielectric material may have a larger bandgap than the first dielectric material, and its configuration may reduce electrostatic charge injection into the first dielectric material. The micro-isolator may be formed using microfabrication techniques.

摘要: Power isolators with multiple selectable feedback modes are described. The power isolators may transfer a power signal from a primary side to a second side. A feedback signal may be provided from the secondary side to the primary side to control generation of the power signal on the primary side. In this manner, the power signal provided to the secondary side may be maintained within desired levels. The feedback signal may be generated by feedback circuitry configurable to operate in different modes, such that the feedback signal may be of differing types depending on which feedback mode is implemented.

摘要: Isolated DC-DC converters are described. A DC-DC converter is a device which converts a direct current (DC) signal from one voltage to another. An isolated DC-DC converter performs the conversion across an electrical isolation barrier separating two voltage domains. The signal converted from one voltage to another, and transferred from one voltage domain to another, may be a power signal. Described are isolated DC-DC converters which transfer a power signal from one voltage domain to another via an isolator, and a power feedback signal back across the isolator. The isolator is a transformer in some situations.

摘要: Isolated DC-DC converters and methods for operating the same are described herein. DC-DC converters include a driver that drives a primary winding of a transformer to transmit power to a secondary winding of the transformer across an isolation barrier. In some embodiments, a pair of symmetrical serial capacitors are provided between the driver and the primary winding of a resonant DC-DC converter with an on-chip transformer to slow down variations of a common mode voltage on the primary winding during operation. This in turn can suppress radiation emissions related to time variation rates of the common mode voltage and, and can also improve electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance of the DC-DC converter.
