Abstract: The invention relates to compositions, comprising. a) 1.00 to 65.00% by weight of at least one compound of formula (I), wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 are each independently H, C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-alkoxy, or C1-C6-alkoxy-C1-C6-alkyl; R is H or C1-C6-alkyl; X is CR6R7, O, or NR8; R6R7 are each independently H, C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-alkoxy, or C1-C6-alkoxy-C1-C6-alkyl; R8 is H, C1-C6-alkyl, or C1-C6-alkoxy-C1-C6-alkyl; k is 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, as component A; b) 1.00 to 60.00% by weight of at least one monomer having two (meth)acrylate groups and having a molecular weight of no more than 500 Dalton, as component B; c) 0 to 25% by weight of at least one monomer having at least three (meth)acrylate groups and having a molecular weight of no more than 600 Dalton, as component C; and d) 1.00 to 30.00% by weight of at least one polymer having at least two (meth)acrylate groups and having a molecular weight of at least 700 Dalton, as component D; with the proviso that the amount of components A+B is at least 50% by weight, as well as the use of these compositions as printing inks, in particular inkjet printing inks.

Abstract: Described are electrochromic devices and compositions as well as manufacturing methods for making such electrochromic devices by printing or wet processing of the compositions. The compositions are in the form of a suspension and comprise two or more monomers, nanoparticles of an electrochromic metal oxide, one or more metal salts of the form (M)z(R)y, where M is a metal cation and R is the corresponding salt anion, a carrier liquid and a solvent. The compositions are polymerised to form a composite layer comprising a polymer matrix that hosts the electrochromic nanoparticles and the electrolyte. At least a part of the metal salts (e.g. zinc acetate) is physically adsorbed onto the surface of the nanoparticles and acts as a dispersant.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for coating light alloy rims, to coating materials for use in this method, and to the coated light alloy rims obtained in this way. A primer layer, a base coat layer, and a clear coat layer are applied to a machined light alloy rim blank. The primer layer includes a radiation-curable coating material having an acid number of 10 to 120 mg KOH/g. The clear coat layer has a double-bond density of free-radically polymerizable reactive groups per unit mass of coating material of at least 1 mol/kg. The coating materials can be cured by radiation.

Abstract: Described is a process for preparing urethane (meth)acrylates. In a first step, a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate (A) is reacted with a lactone (B) in the presence of at least one catalyst (C), selected from the group consisting of iron compounds, titanium compounds, aluminum compounds, zirconium compounds, manganese compounds, nickel compounds, zinc compounds, cobalt compounds, and bismuth compounds to provide a product; and, in a further step, the product is reacted with a polyisocyanate (D) which comprises at least one hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate bonded via an allophanate group.
