Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing an at least partially crosslinked polymer composition, having a first melt index (MI) value and a first tensile strength, comprising the steps of: a. providing an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer, the EVA copolymer having a second MI value and a second tensile strength and containing at least 30 wt % units derived from vinyl acetate, b. adding from 0.01 to 0.03 wt % of an organic peroxide, wherein the organic peroxide is diluted in 0.001 to 0.05 wt % of white oil, and c. blending the EVA copolymer and the organic peroxide at a temperature sufficient to initiate crosslinking. The first MI value of the at least partially crosslinked polymer composition is less than 5 g/10 min (190° C., 2.16 kg).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cable jacket comprising a random heterophasic propylene copolymer, wherein said copolymer comprises a matrix (M) being a random propylene copolymer (R-PP) and dispersed therein an elastomeric propylene copolymer (E), wherein the random propylene copolymer (R-PP) has a melt flow rate MFR2 (230° C./2.16 kg) of 0.1 to 10.0 g/10 min and wherein the elastomeric propylene copolymer (E) has a comonomer content in the range of 40.0 to 55.0 mol %, and wherein said copolymer has MFR2 (230° C.) in the range of from 0.5 to 15 g/10 min, flexural modulus below 400 MPa, and relaxation spectrum index (RSI) at 200° C. below 20.0. The present invention further relates to a telecommunication cable comprising said jacket.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a power cable, which power cable comprises at least one core comprising a conductor and an expanded and crosslinked insulation layer surrounding said conductor, wherein said process comprises the steps a) to d): a) providing a blend of: a polymer composition comprising a polyolefin material, which polyolefin material bears silane moieties; a catalyst and a foaming system, wherein the provided blend will comprise at least 0.1% by weight of a foaming agent, with respect to the total weight of the polyolefin material; b) extruding a blend, as described in step a), on the conductor to form an insulation layer; c) foaming the insulation layer; and d) crosslinking the insulation layer; a power cable which is obtainable by the process, and use of the power cable.
