Abstract: Metabolic disorders such as Type 2 diabetes may be treated using a system that is adapted to modulate an hepatic neural plexus of a patient. The system includes a stimulation device adapted for implantation near the patient's hepatic neural plexus and to provide mechanical energy to the patient's hepatic neural plexus, a source of excitation energy adapted to provide excitation energy to the stimulation device, and a controller that is operably coupled to the source of excitation energy and is adapted to control the source of excitation energy.

Abstract: Intravascular imaging systems and methods for making and using intravascular imaging devices are disclosed. An example intravascular imaging device may include an imaging catheter. An imaging core may be translatable and rotatable within the imaging catheter. The imaging core may include a first imaging device and a second imaging device different from the first imaging device. A connector assembly may be disposed adjacent to a proximal end region of the imaging catheter. The connector assembly may be configured to connect the imaging catheter to a control unit. The connector assembly may include a first connector for connecting the first imaging device to the control unit and a second connector for connecting the second imaging device to the control unit. The connector assembly may be spring-loaded.

Abstract: An assembly may have an axle. Rotation of the axle may cause deflection of a portion of a medical device. A collet may have an opening. The axle may extent through the longitudinal opening. An actuator may be configured to interact with the collet. A first configuration of the collet may permit rotation of the axle relative to the collet and a second configuration of the collet may inhibit rotation of the axle relative to the collet.

Abstract: An example medical device includes a handle, an actuation mechanism coupled to the handle, and a delivery needle, wherein a proximal end of the delivery needle is coupled to a first end of the handle. A fluid delivery device is coupled to a second end of the housing, and a retractable sensor is positioned within the handle. The retractable sensor is configured to extend distally through a lumen of the delivery needle in a non-retracted position during placement of the delivery needle within a body of a patient, wherein actuation of the actuation mechanism causes the retractable sensor to retract proximally through the lumen of the delivery needle into the handle to a retracted position.
