    Abstract: A photoelectric conversion device capable of operations corresponding to the amplitude of a signal read out to a vertical signal line is disclosed. The device comprises a pixel that generates a signal via photoelectric conversion and a determination circuit that determines an amplitude of a signal read out from the pixel to a vertical signal line. A reset signal and a data signal are read out from the pixel. The determination circuit performs a first determination on the data signal while the pixel is being selected for reading out a signal and performs a second determination on the reset signal.

    Abstract: A photoelectric conversion device comprising a pixel portion in which pixels each including a photoelectric converter are arranged, a sample/hold unit configured to sample a signal generated in the photoelectric converter via a vertical signal line and hold the signal, and a converter configured to perform an analog/digital conversion is provided. In the sample/hold unit, a first sample/hold circuit that samples a signal for when the photoelectric converter is reset and a second sample/hold circuit that samples a signal for when a photoelectric conversion operation is performed are connected to one vertical signal line. The pixel portion is arranged on a first substrate, a part of a group configured by the sample/hold unit and the converter is arranged on a second substrate, and another part of the group is arranged on a third substrate.

    Abstract: A photoelectric conversion apparatus comprises a first substrate having a light-receiving array and a plurality of driving lines for supplying control signals to the array and a second substrate having a first circuit that includes a driver circuit group configured to generate the control signals and is configured to function as a vertical scanning circuit which supplies the control signals to at least some of the driving lines and a second circuit including a circuit group having the same arrangement as that of the driver circuit group. The second circuit overlaps the at least some driving lines. The at least some driving lines include a driving line not electrically connected to the second circuit. The second substrate includes, at a position overlapping the second circuit, an electrically conductive line used for power supply or transfer of a signal different from the control signals.

    Abstract: A photoelectric conversion device including pixels arranged to form rows, a scanning circuit that performs scanning for sequentially outputting a signal from the pixel on a row basis, and a processing circuit that processes a signal output from the pixel. The processing circuit corrects, based on a first reset signal and a second reset signal based on a reset state of the pixel, an optical signal based on incident light. The scanning circuit performs scanning for outputting the optical signal and the first reset signal from the pixel by scans performed in different periods. The scanning circuit performs scanning for outputting the optical signal and the second reset signal from the pixel by a scan. The first reset signal, the second reset signal, and the optical signal are output from the pixel in a frame period in which signals to be used for generating a frame is output.
