    Abstract: Described, in certain aspects of the invention, are apparatuses and methods for deploying artificial devices within the vascular system. One apparatus includes a delivery device having a lumen and a deployment member slidably received within the lumen. This apparatus further includes an artificial device having an anchoring element releasably engaged with the deployment member. Such an apparatus can be percutaneously delivered to a site within a vascular vessel, and thereafter manipulated so that the anchoring element attaches to the vessel wall. The delivery device and deployment member can then be withdrawn from the vessel, whereby the deployment member disengages from the anchoring element, leaving the artificial device implanted in the vessel.

    Abstract: Described are devices useful for providing hemostasis at a vascular access site, and related methods. Such devices can include first and second implant members cooperable when forced together to expand the first implant member in a tissue tract at the site. Such devices can also include an anchor member and a tether attached thereto. The anchor member can be deployed distally to the first implant member, within a vessel, and the tether can be tensioned to apply counterforce to the first implant member as the second implant member is forced into cooperative contact to expand the first implant member.

    Abstract: A swaged braided catheter for use in various medical procedures is provided. The swaged braided catheter includes a tubular braid formed from a plurality of braided wire members. A plurality of intersections is formed by the braided wire members. The intersections are compressed defining a plurality of flattened regions along the tubular braid. The intersections have a first thickness before being compressed and a reduced second thickness after being compressed. The flattened regions with the reduced second thickness provide the swaged braided catheter with a reduced cross-sectional profile, and reduced catheter recoil.
