摘要: A flexible catheter includes an elongated body, a first monolithic wire, and a second monolithic wire. The first monolithic wire forms a first sensor that is disposed in the distal end portion of the elongated body. The first sensor is configured to detect the position of a distal end of the elongated body within anatomy of a patient. The second monolithic wire forms a second sensor that is disposed in the distal end portion of the elongated body a known distance from the first sensor. The first and second sensors are configured to determine the position of the distal end portion within six degrees-of-freedom. A method of manufacturing the flexible catheter is also provided.

摘要: A system for navigating to a catheter to a target is disclosed. The system includes a probe and a workstation. The probe is configured to be navigated through a patient's airways and includes a location sensor. The workstation is in operative communication with the probe. The workstation includes a memory and at least one processor. The memory stores a navigation plan and a program that, when executed by the processor, is configured to generate a 3D rendering of the patient's airways, generate a view using the 3D rendering, and display the view featuring at least a portion of the navigation plan. Generating the view includes executing a first transfer function for a first range from a distal tip of the location sensor and executing a second transfer function for a second range from the distal tip of the location sensor.

摘要: Imaging systems and methods estimate poses of a fluoroscopic imaging device, which may be used to reconstruct 3D volumetric data of a target area, based on a sequence of fluoroscopic images of a medical device or points, e.g., radiopaque markers, on the medical device captured by performing a fluoroscopic sweep. The systems and methods may identify and track the points along a length of the medical device appearing in the captured fluoroscopic images. The 3D coordinates of the points may be obtained, for example, from electromagnetic sensors or by performing a structure from motion method on the captured fluoroscopic images. In other aspects, a 3D shape of the catheter is determined, then the angle at which the 3D catheter projects onto the 2D catheter in each captured fluoroscopic image is found.

摘要: A method for placing a set of one or more markers in a luminal network in a patient's body includes using at least one hardware processor for receiving image data of the anatomy of a luminal network of a patient and a location of at least one target in the luminal network anatomy, obtaining a rule set defining one or more rules for placing the set of one or more markers in the luminal network anatomy and with respect to the at least one target, during a survey performed by a user via a navigation module in a portion of the luminal network surrounding the at least one target, acquiring, via the navigation module, sample-locations in the surveyed portion of the luminal network, and identifying a set of one or more marker locations for placing the set of one or more markers from the acquired sample-locations, which complies with the rule set.

摘要: A method for implementing a dynamic three-dimensional lung map view for navigating a probe inside a patient's lungs includes loading a navigation plan into a navigation system, the navigation plan including a planned pathway shown in a 3D model generated from a plurality of CT images, inserting the probe into a patient's airways, registering a sensed location of the probe with the planned pathway, selecting a target in the navigation plan, presenting a view of the 3D model showing the planned pathway and indicating the sensed location of the probe, navigating the probe through the airways of the patient's lungs toward the target, iteratively adjusting the presented view of the 3D model showing the planned pathway based on the sensed location of the probe, and updating the presented view by removing at least a part of an object forming part of the 3D model.

摘要: A method of registering a luminal network to a 3D model of the luminal network with real-time feedback is disclosed, including generating the 3D model of the luminal network based on images of the luminal network, generating an electromagnetic field about the luminal network, inserting a location sensor into the electromagnetic field, tracking the location of the sensor within the luminal network, comparing the tracked locations of the sensor with sensors located outside of the luminal network and the portions of the 3D model representative of open space, and presenting on a user interface an indication of which portions of the luminal network have been sufficiently traversed by the sensor to register that portion of the luminal network to the 3D model.
