    摘要: An air induction assembly 10 disposed in an intake passage through which air flows to an engine. The air induction assembly 10 has a conduit member 20 which defines an air flow path. A mass air flow sensor (MAFS) 30 is located in the intermediate conduit portion and is in fluid communication with the air flow path. The MAFS 30 being operative to generate an output signal corresponding to air flow rate within the intermediate conduit portion A plurality of flow conditioning elements (FCEs) 22 in the airflow path produce a uniform airflow with low turbulent fluctuations to the MAFS 30 under all vehicle and engine speeds without excessively restricting the air flowing to the engine.

    摘要: An automotive evaporative emissions canister includes a housing containing a hydrocarbon adsorbing material, such as carbon. The canister includes a vent port for venting air to the atmosphere upon adsorption of hydrocarbons and for admitting air upon the desorption of hydrocarbon during the purging operation of the canister. A purge port is adapted for connection to the engine to allow the desorbed hydrocarbons to flow into the engine. A plurality of holes is formed through the side wall of the canister housing and are formed at a location remote from the purge port between the vent port and the purge port to define a buffer zone. The holes are adapted for communication with the fuel tank to allow fuel vapor to flow through the tank through the plurality of holes into the buffer zone. Thus, vapor purged directly from the tank to the engine is buffered through the carbon canister to prevent any vapor purge spikes creating the undesirably over-rich condition.

    摘要: A fuel vapor adsorption brick for use in a fuel vapor management system. The fuel adsorption brick is formed of a mixture of activated carbon and plastic compressed to a desired size and shape and placed within a portion of either the fuel tank or fuel tank attachments. The carbon/plastic brick is easy to make and provides great geometric flexibility for optimum vehicle packaging. The carbon/plastic brick may reduce or minimize the number of discrete parts used in a fuel tank assembly, as it can be integrated into either a fuel tank or fuel tank attachment, thereby eliminating the need for a separate carbon canister. The carbon/plastic brick minimizes or eliminates carbon dust associated adsorption/desorption cycles and also eliminates the need for apparatus to maintain carbon bed integrity.
