    摘要： A telematics method and system facilitates customizing a plurality of vehicle content files, parameters, and features based on edits and selections from a user interface. A telematics provider maintains a database comprising a table, or tables that associate(s) user identification information with a vehicle VIN and equipment/features/content installed in/on vehicle devices associated with the VIN. Database updates may occur automatically, or upon a user instruction, when a TCU wirelessly transmits current equipment, content, and feature configuration information to a TOC coupled with the database. The telematics provider's server may provide the interface that facilitates the user logging in and editing features, content, and operational and performance parameters currently configured/installed in/on the vehicle' equipment and devices. The telematics provider may forward the user input from the interface to another provider after it verifies user log in credentials before the other provider begins a download to vehicle devices associated with the VIN.

    摘要： A computer device, having at least two long-range wireless profiles and coupled with a communication bus of a vehicle, receives a notice that a vehicle-centric download for the computer device, or for a vehicle device coupled to the communication bus, is pending from a remote server. The vehicle computer device determines the size and security requirement associated with the pending download, and a current operational state of the vehicle. If the size or security requirement is low, a consumer-centric profile may be used for the download even if the vehicle is currently being used. If the download file size is large or requires very high security, or if a user is currently using the computer device according to the consumer-centric profile, the computer device may schedule the download to occur after receiving a trigger event occurrence message.

    摘要： A wireless mobile device in a public communication network receives network-initiated signaling or messaging, while operating in a battery-conserving mode, or modes that, keep(s) minimal baseband processing functions awake. The baseband processing functions process incoming signaling or data in a received message to determine whether to act further on information in the incoming message by enabling additional processing capability in the mobile device. The mobile device may have permanent template criteria values, either coded in firmware or implemented in hardware, or temporary template criteria values, stored in RAM or processor registers, that are compared to values of an incoming message or datagram from the mobile network to determine whether to perform additional actions, such as awakening an application processor. Multiple templates may co-exist to allow different incoming datagrams to cause the device to take some additional action, respond, or even ignore information in an incoming datagram or message.

    摘要： A vehicle processing device authenticates that an authorized user has requested an action by the vehicle, and generates an authentication acknowledgement message. At least two security devices being present within the cabin of, or close to, the vehicle during a predetermined period following an authentication trigger event that occurs while the user performs a predetermined sequence of authentication activities (i.e., button presses, operating the vehicle or a part of it, etc.) provides a basis for the authentication acknowledgement message. Typically, information unique to each security device has been associated with the vehicle at a service provider's server. The authentication acknowledgement may include an activation code that results from processing the information, unique to each security device, received from the security devices and other random information, such as date. A service provider's server, or a user device, provides services to, or can access, respectively, the vehicle upon receiving the authentication acknowledgement.

    摘要： A system and method for determining an SMS retransmission schedule is provided. When a special error code is received by an SMSC, the SMSC can calculate the response time. The response time is the time that lapsed between forwarding the SMS message for delivery and receiving an error code. If the response time exceeds a response time threshold, the error code can be considered as falsely generated. A special retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message. If the response time does not exceed a response time threshold, a different retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message.

    摘要： A method and system for providing targeted advertisement information to consumers over a wireless communications network. In one embodiment, local advertisers register to advertise on wireless communications devices that are in close proximity to the advertiser. As a consumer enters a cell site that is near the location of the advertiser, the wireless network delivers a message to the wireless device specified by the local advertiser. An acknowledgement signal is then received by the network, and the local advertiser's account is charged for transmission of the advertisement. In a further embodiment, each of the messages stored in the database is also associated with one or more demographic codes, and users of wireless communications device select from one more demographic codes to describe their advertisement preferences. Messages to be transmitted to particular wireless communications devices are selected based upon both the location information and the demographic codes associated with the messages.

    摘要： A telematics method and system includes, and uses, a telematics device with a controller in communication with a diagnostic system configured to receive diagnostic information from a host vehicle; a position-locating system configured to determine location information of the host vehicle; a wireless transceiver configured to transmit and receive information through a wireless network to and from at least one Internet-accessible website; and, a communication interface including at least a short range wireless interface link. The telematics device may be embodied in an access device, which may include the position-locating system. The access device may be a smartphone, or similar device, that retrieves/transmits diagnostic data/information, and other data/information to/from the vehicle via the short range wireless link. The access device performs various telematics device functions; it uses a long range wireless interface to communicate diagnostic and related information to a central host computer, and to receive related information from same.

    摘要： Software, at a networked central computer or at a wireless mobile user device, uses GPS coordinates of a mobile user device's current location to determine a polygon in which the GPS coordinates lie. Upon determining the polygon that surrounds the current location, the software can perform a task related to the polygon. Examples of tasks include: determining traffic camera images to display on the mobile user device based on the location, speed, and heading of the user device. The images can include advertisements that pertain to the general vicinity, or demographics of those typically in the vicinity, of the cameras' coverage area. Another task includes associating performance data from a vehicle, and stored in a table, for a given location with a corresponding polygon that surrounds the location; processing the data; and assigning a risk value to the polygon based on the corresponding performance data.
