    摘要: Novel alkaline serine proteases produced by Nocardiopsis sp. strains, for example by aerobic cultivation of strain 10R (NRRL-18262) and Nocardiopsis dassonvillei strain M58-1 (NRRL 18133), the proteases being characterized by a pH optimum of about 8, and by retention of at least 60% of maximum activity at pH 7-11 measured with casein as substrate.The proteases of the invention may be distinguished from the known protease of the Nocardiopsis strain ZIMET 43647 (of East German 2004328) and known Bacillus and fungal alkaline proteases. The Alkaline proteases of strains 10R and M58-1 may also be distinguished from each other.The protease preparations of this invention are useful detergent additives for cold water laundering.

    摘要: A bacteriolytic enzyme complex is obtained from a bacterial culture of Bacillus pabuli strains, e.g. , isolates 350-2 (NRRL B-18446) and 391-1 (NRRL B-18447). This bacteriolytic enzyme complex is useful as an antibacterial agent against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The enzyme complex may be produced by cultivating the B. pabuli microorganisms in an aqueous medium containing cornsteep liquor, after which the lyric enzyme complex can be recovered from the fermentation broth.

    摘要: The invention relates to a mutant of Bacillus thuringiensis which produces a larger amount of crystal delta-endotoxin with a greater pesticidal activity as compared to the corresponding parental strain. The mutant may also have a larger crystal size as compared to the corresponding parental strain. The crystal delta-endotoxin produced by the mutant Bacillus thuringiensis will have an activity directed towards the same pest(s) as its parental Bacillus thuringiensis crystal delta-endotoxin. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a mutant, compositions comprising such a mutant as well as methods for controlling a pest(s) using these compositions.

    摘要: A method of producing algal cell wall degrading enzyme by cultivating a thermophilic, bacterial strain of an atypical Bacillus stearothermophilus e.g., W36-7-4 (NRRL B-18394) which produces the alginate lyase in a cultivation medium containing sodium alginate and tryptone, then allowing growth to take place to accumulate alginate lyase, and then recovering the enzyme from the fermentation broth. The novel alginate lyase of this invention is useful as a treatment agent for water cooling systems.

    摘要: A process for preparing saccharide oligomers uses an aqueous feed composition that comprises at least one monosaccharide or linear saccharide oligomer, and has a solids concentration of at least about 70% by weight. The feed composition is heated to a temperature of at least about 40° C., and is contacted with at least one catalyst that accelerates the rate of cleavage or formation of glucosyl bonds, such as enzyme or acid, for a time sufficient to cause formation of non-linear saccharide oligomers. A product composition is produced that contains a higher concentration of non-linear saccharide oligomers than linear saccharide oligomers.
