    摘要: A device for measuring force of bending of a head-flexure assembly by a given amount characterized by the distance between a clamping surface for one end of the flexure and the plane (recording surface) in contact with the head at at the other end of the flexure. The device includes a load cell with a cell reference surface adjustably supported on a cell base which is slidably mounted on a main base. Adjustment of the location of the cell reference surface with respect to the clamp surface is achieved by a shaft threaded into the load cell with a first thread and threaded into the main base with a second thread so that by turning the shaft, the distance between the two reference surfaces can be very accurately adjusted. When the load cell is deformed by application of the head loading force to the cell reference surface, a signal from the load cell actuates a mechanism maintaining the cell reference surface in its initial location thereby maintaining the initial flexion of the flexure.

    摘要: A disk/file for magnetic recording having overall dimensions of one quarter inch thick by about the size of a standard credit card with pin connectors for connecting into a receptacle such as for pc boards. The file features a rotor mounted on the rims of two disk and a stator external to and coplanar with the disks. An actuator features a "wobble" disk rolling around the inside of a nest of electromagnets and turning a small increment with each excursion around the nest thereby turning the shaft of the head support to actuate the head from track to track. The head support arm includes two sections hinged together and engaged with a third link that orients the head to eliminate head skew. A magnet withdraws the head devices from the disk surface to avoid sticktion when the disks are stationary. The head devices feature thin film cores that are oriented flat to the surface of the disk.

    摘要: Server discovery, spawning collector threads to collect information from servers, and reporting such information, is disclosed. A method of one embodiment determines a number of servers communicatively coupled to a network. For each server, a collector thread is spawned to collect information regarding the server by sending requests to the server and receiving responses from the server. The collector threads can be spawned by and run on a computing device other than the number of servers, such that no computer-executable code is installed on the servers for collecting the information. Upon completion of the collector thread for each server, the information regarding the server as collected is stored to a database by one or more writer threads. The information may include dynamic load-oriented and function-oriented information regarding the servers, as well as static configuration information, from which server utilization-oriented statistics may be distilled to identify candidate servers for server consolidation.

A drinking straw is inserted from the above the cover, through the container into the cup/can.

    摘要: A multi-stage process for isomerizing olefin compounds to the corresponding product olefin compounds is provided. The isomerization catalyst comprises an oxygen treated mixture of an alkali metal on a calcined support. The multi-stage process is particularly useful for isomerizing 5-vinyl-2-norbornene to 5-ethylidiene-2-norbornene. The catalyst is very active and highly selective and resistent to catalyst poisons. The process contacts the catalyst with an isomerizable olefin in at least two reaction stages to yield the corresponding product olefin compound. The reaction stages differ in temperature, catalyst activity or both.

    摘要: The present invention can include an automated method controlling the fan speed of computer system cooling fans with altitude and/or fluid density data from a centralized sensor. Such a method can utilize a centralized sensor to determine the altitude/fluid density within an enclosed area. The centralized sensor can be positioned so as to be unaffected by extraneous activities within the enclosed area. The determined altitude/fluid density can be conveyed to a computer system containing one or more cooling fans. The computer system can be located within the enclosed area. Then, the computer system can determine the need for adjusting the speed of the cooling fans based on the altitude/fluid density. When the need for adjustment exists, the speed of the cooling fans can be adjusted in accordance with the altitude/fluid density.
