    摘要: A pour spout for pouring a fluid, such as fuel, by gravity from a container to a tank. The spout includes a conduit having one end connected to the fuel container and having a second end to be positioned within the neck of the tank. A sleeve is mounted for sliding movement within the conduit and the outer end of the sleeve carries a closure which closes off the discharge end of the conduit. A vent tube is disposed within the conduit and has an inlet end which is adapted to communicate with the fuel tank when the closure is in the open position. A check valve is mounted within the vent tube and permits the flow of fuel vapor and air from the tank through the tube to the container, but prevents flow of fuel in the opposite direction. An annular collar is mounted on the conduit and with the collar engaged with the neck of the fuel tank, a downward force applied through the container on the sleeve will open the closure to admit fuel through the conduit to the tank. The collar is adjustably mounted along the length of the fluid conduit to accommodate tank necks of different configurations. The closure carries a rotatable tab which encloses the inlet of the vent tube when the closure is in the closed position to prevent foreign material from entering the vent tube, but permits limited vapor and air flow to eliminate a buildup of pressure or vacuum in the fuel container. By rotating the tab, the tab can be brought into sealing engagement with the inlet of the vent tube to prevent vapor or liquid flow therethrough.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a spring housing rotatably mounted to the engine's engine housing for rotation about an axis of rotation. An energy storing mechanism including at least one elastic member is housed within the spring housing. A spring loading mechanism includes at least one roller movable into and out of engagement between the engine's flywheel and the spring housing, such that rotation of the flywheel is converted through the at least one roller to cause rotation of the spring housing in a direction that loads the elastic member. An engine starting mechanism includes a helically threaded member interconnected with the spring housing and a starter pinion threaded onto the helically threaded member. Rotation of the spring housing in response to unloading of the elastic member causes the starter pinion to move into engagement with the flywheel, thereby rotating the flywheel and starting the engine.

    摘要: An engine starting and stopping device includes a first roller selectively abutting the flywheel of an engine for rotation on a first shaft in response to rotation of the flywheel. A second roller abuts the first roller and rotates in response to rotation of the first roller. A second shaft and an overwind clutch couple the second roller with a third roller such that the third roller rotates in response to rotation of the second roller. The third roller abuts a spring housing and causes rotation of the spring housing in response to rotation of the third roller. A spring is housed within the spring housing and is loaded in response to rotation of the spring housing. The overwind clutch slips when the spring is loaded to a preselected level to protect the spring from overwinding. The spring is selectively unloaded to rotate the spring housing in an unloading direction. Rotation of the spring housing in the unloading direction causes rotation of the engine's crankshaft and startup of the engine.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes an engine housing, a crankshaft supported within the engine housing for rotation with respect to the engine housing, and a flywheel fixedly mounted to the crankshaft and rotatable with the crankshaft in a starting direction to start the engine. A coil spring has an outer end fixedly interconnected with respect to the engine housing, and an inner end. A unidirectional clutch has a portion connected to the inner end of the spring. The unidirectional clutch is characterized by an interference condition in which the unidirectional clutch couples the inner end of the spring to the flywheel such that the flywheel and crankshaft may be rotated in the starting direction in response to unloading of the spring. The unidirectional clutch is also characterized by a non-interference condition in which the inner end of the spring is uncoupled from the flywheel. An input assembly is interconnected with the spring and selectively movable into contact with flywheel to load the spring in response to rotation of the flywheel. A locking mechanism selectively prevents the spring from unloading, and at least one manual actuator is actuable to disengage the locking mechanism from the spring to enable unloading of the spring.

    摘要: A rotary engine of the trochoidal type in which the rotor and the profile of a basically trochoidally shaped inner housing wall bear such relationship to one another that when the differential in pressure in the flanking chambers is Greatest, the rotor apex seals are deliberately caused to stroke out, so that the resulting friction between the outwardly stroking apex seals and the sides of the rotor slots, so modifies the outward forces acting on the seals that the contact force between the seals and the housing wall are significantly less than they would be without such outward stroking of the apex seals. In one embodiment of the invention, the outward stroking of the apex seals results from the outward displacement of the profile of the inner housing wall surface along those stretches thereof at which the pressure differentials are greatest and, in another embodiment, the desired outward stroking is obtained by using an oversized two lobed-trochoidal profile for the inner housing wall and shifting the housing with respect to the rotor shaft along the major axis of the trochoid.

    摘要: A governor for an internal combustion engine having an intake passageway and an engine throttle valve movable between an open position and a closed position, a throttle arm connected to the engine throttle valve to control movement of the engine throttle valve. A pressure assist adjusts the position of the throttle arm when a load is applied to the engine. The pressure assist includes a pressure responsive actuator having a pressure chamber in fluid flow communication with the intake passageway. The pressure responsive actuator is movable in a first direction in response to a pressure or a vacuum in the intake passageway. The throttle arm is movable in response to movement of the pressure responsive actuator. A conduit connects the pressure chamber and the intake passageway in fluid flow communication. A one-way valve is disposed in the conduit between the pressure chamber and the intake passageway.
