摘要: Methods and systems are provided for managing, compiling, and displaying unpredictable digital content received from a plurality of sources, such as news information transmitted in RSS feeds. A layout may be selected from multiple display templates, each having slots for the segments of media that are received. Selection of the templates may be based on the properties of the segments. Further systems and methods are directed to displaying at least a portion of non-textual digital content, such as video and pictures, in a nested view designated for the non-textual graphical content. In one example, the portion of non-textual digital content presented in the nested view is determined by the properties of the non-textual digital content. In other instances, the quantity of the non-textual data may determine what portion is displayed in the nested view.

摘要: A location aware user interface on a wireless handset is described. The location aware user interface comprises a location module configured to transmit a location message to a remote server via a network. The remote server is configured to determine whether the wireless handset is within a geofence. The user interface further comprises a display module configured to display at least one content item associated with the geofence. The user interface also comprises an input module configured to receive a user-created content item and transmit the received user-created content item to the remote server. The remote server is configured to associate the content item with the geofence in which the wireless handset is located.

摘要: Various systems and methods for performing attribute binding are disclosed herein. As one example, a method for binding entities is provided that includes identifying two entities that are each include attributes. An attribute of the first entity is bound to an attribute of the second entity, and a rule is defined to govern the interaction between the two entities. A request is received to modify one of the entities, and the rule is accessed and forms at least part of a basis for modifying the other entity.

摘要: A wave energy converter (WEC) includes a shell suitable for being placed within a body of water. The shell contains an internal oscillator comprising a “reaction mass” and a spring mechanism coupled between the reaction mass and the shell. The shell and internal oscillator are constructed such that, when placed in a body of water and in response to waves in the body of water, there is relative motion between the shell and the internal oscillator's mass. A power take-off (PTO) device is coupled between the internal oscillator and the shell to convert their relative motion into electric energy. In systems embodying the invention, the spring mechanism is designed such that its displacement or movement is less than the displacement or movement of the reaction mass. The spring mechanism may be any device which enables the reaction mass to undergo a given replacement while its displacement or movement is less than that of the reaction mass. This property enables the size of the WEC to be more readily controlled (e.g., made smaller).

摘要: A method of detecting two different target molecules through a single electrode is carried out by (a) providing a conductive oxidation-reduction reaction detection electrode; (b) contacting a sample suspected of containing a first and second target molecule to the electrode under conditions in which the first and second target molecules are deposited on the electrode, wherein the first target molecule comprises a first label and the second target molecule comprises a second label; (c) contacting to the electrode a first transition metal complex that oxidizes the first preselected label in a first oxidation-reduction reaction and a second transition metal complex that oxidizes the first and second labels in a second oxidation-reduction reaction, with the first and second oxidation-reduction reactions producing different detectable signals; (d) detecting the presence of the first target molecule by detecting the first oxidation-reduction reaction; and(e) detecting the presence of the second target molecule by detecting the second oxidation-reduction reaction. Devices for carrying out the method are also described.

摘要: A system and method for predicting and limiting distortion of an amplified signal is described. The system includes a variable total harmonic distortion (“THD”) clipping predictor, a comparator in communication with the variable THD clipping predictor and a distortion limiter in communication with the comparator. As for the method, a reference power supply value, a maximum desired total harmonic distortion value and a preamplified signal value is provided. A THD output threshold value is calculated based on the reference power supply value and the maximum desired THD value and is then compared to the preamplified signal value. Depending on if the preamplified signal value is greater than or less than the THD output threshold value, the amplitude of the preamplified signal may be increased or decreased.
