    摘要: An injection pump with a full-load stop, preferably electronically controlled, which is adjustable against the force of a prestressed spring as a result of the control exerted by an electromagnet with a controllable stroke and which, when there is no current in the magnet, is displaceable by means of the spring into its terminal position which determines a reduced full-load quantity. Thus the maximum injection quantity is reduced in accordance with operating conditions and with the operational status of the engine; by this means, environmentally safer and smoother engine operation is possible at all operating conditions. The injection pump is also capable of continuing to function if the electrical or electronic parts fail.

    摘要: A sheathed-element glow plug for disposition in the combustion chamber of air-compressing internal combustion engines is proposed which in a known manner contains a resistor element (17) in its sheathed-element (13), where this resistor element (17) is composed of two serially connected resistor spirals (20, 21). While the resistor spiral (20) on the combustion chamber side is a heater spiral with a resistance behavior which is essentially the same at all operating temperatures, the wirespiral shaped resistance spiral (21) on the side remote from the combustion chamber which acts as a regulating element, has a high temperature resistance coefficient. This resistance spiral (21) consists of a cobalt-iron alloy, which is not subject to material breakdown under the temperature stresses occurring in an internal combustion engine; the cobalt-iron alloy has been selected in such a way that it maintains a cubic face-centered material structure during all operational stages of the sheathed-element glow plug (10) from 0.degree.-1200.degree. C.; the iron content of this cobalt-iron alloy lies between 6 and 18 weight percent, preferably at 2 to 14 weight percent. The resistor element (17) formed as a wire spiral is embedded in a known manner in an insulating material (18), which is electrically insulating and conducts heat well.

    摘要: A method for evaluating output signals of a sensor for measuring operational parameters of an internal combustion engine, utilizes characteristic wave forms of signal portions derived from a sensor. Threshold levels for setting the beginning and the end of an injection process are determined from threshold levels of an (n+m)th signal portion which are derived from a fraction of preceding nth signal. The device for carrying out this method includes a store for the peak value of the nth signal and a controlled discharging device which cooperates with a threshold switch and which is controlled by other parameters of the engine such as rotary speed.

    摘要: The Schmitt trigger threshold switch which produces rectangular waves in response to the output of a rotary ignition timing generator has a variable bias applied to its switch-in threshold which is proportional to the amplitude of the generator output, while the switch-out threshold remains fixed at or near zero voltage. The bias, which may be developed by a peak detector, prevents inherent ignition timing shift as the generator turns faster. The Schmitt trigger utilizes an inverting comparator so that a "lowest-wins" circuit can be used for applying stabilizing negative feedback or bias to the comparator. The bias provides immunity to disturbing voltages which increase with signal amplitude.

    摘要: In order to prevent dangerous operation of machinery, for example excessive speeds in internal combustion engines upon electrical failure in the fuel management system or associated sensors, the current passing through the electromagnetic final control element which engages the fuel control rod is monitored. In normal operation of the final control element, when the armature is displaced, a back EMF opposes the applied voltage, thereby reducing the effective current. Accordingly, a jammed armature and similar malfunctions will produce increased current through the final control element. The threshold of a threshold response switch is set to lie between these two values of the current, whereby, when the armature is jammed or short circuits occur, the current will rise above the threshold and permit fuel shut-off or a switchover to mechanical fuel control. Another embodiment of the invention monitors the output voltage of a position transducer associated, for example, with the fuel control rod of the engine and initiates emergency procedures when the signal departs from its nominal range in one direction.
