摘要: Absorbent articles comprising molded airlaid webs and other molded fibrous webs are disclosed. The molded webs can offer improved body fit, comfort, and/or improved fluid handling. Molded airlaid webs, for example, can be formed having a central longitudinal hump and flexure zones longitudinally removed from the central hump to provide good contact with the body and improved fit when the article is squeezed from the sides. Molding can be achieved when a binder material is activated by an energy source and the web is held against a molding substrate. Energy sources can include microwaves, heated air, heated metal surfaces, ultraviolet radiation, ultrasonic energy, and the like.

摘要: Curly cellulose fibers having a high wet resiliency and a method of making high wet resiliency curly cellulose fibers with a chemically-assisted curling method. Polymeric reactive compounds are used to provide intrafiber crosslinking in curly fibers, thereby chemically setting the curl in the fibers, resulting in fibers that are stiff enough to not collapse upon wetting. These high wet resiliency curly cellulose fibers maintain a capillary structure during fluid acquisition and distribution, thus increasing absorbency.

摘要: The invention is a method for improving the efficiency of aqueous cationic wet strength additives by pretreating cellulose surfaces with reactive anionic compounds, thus providing the cellulose surface with additional anionic sites suitable for retaining a high proportion of said cationic wet strength additives on the cellulose. The wet strength additives on the cellulose surface are cured or reacted with the cellulose surface. The resulting fibrous material has unusually high wet strength with unusually low doses of cationic wet strength additive. The preferred reactive anionic compounds comprise compounds having a reactive group suitable for covalent bonding to hydroxyl groups on cellulose, and further having sulfonic or other anionic end groups capable of attracting cationic wet strength compounds in aqueous solution. The invention also includes means of preventing photoyellowing of high-yield fibers while simultaneously improving wet strength performance.

摘要: An embodiment of a system and method for performing a numerical operation on input data in a hybrid floating-point format includes representing input data as a sign bit, exponent bits, and mantissa bits. The exponent bits are represented as an unsigned integer including an exponent bias, and a signed numerical value of zero is represented as a first reserved combination of the mantissa bits and the exponent bits. Each of all other combinations of the mantissa bits and the exponent bits represents a real finite non-zero number. The mantissa bits are operated on with a “one” bit before a radix point for the all other combinations of the mantissa bits and the exponent bits.

摘要: An embodiment of a method and a related apparatus for digital computation of a floating point complex multiply-add is provided. The method includes receiving an input addend, a first product, and a second product. The input addend, the first product and the second product each respectively has a mantissa and an exponent. The method includes shifting the mantissas of the two with smaller exponents of the input addend, the first product, and the second product to align together with the mantissa of the one with largest exponent of the input addend, the first product and the second product, and adding the aligned input addend, the aligned first product and the aligned second product.
