摘要: Aspects of the disclosure include a 1.5 sided cooled power module for enhanced cooling and gate connections. An exemplary cooled power module can include an upside direct bond copper (DBC) having a first top copper layer, a first bottom copper layer, and a first dielectric layer between the first top copper layer and the first bottom copper layer. A downside DBC includes a second top copper layer, a second bottom copper layer, and a second dielectric layer between the second top copper layer and the second bottom copper layer. One or more dies are positioned between the upside DBC and the downside DBC. The upside DBC is sized such that a portion of an uppermost surface of the one or more dies remains exposed. Bond wires are placed on the exposed portion of the one or more dies and terminated on the first top copper layer of the upside DBC.

摘要: An alternating current (AC) motor system includes an AC motor with a rotor and a stator with multi-phase AC stator windings. The system also includes a power inverter that generates a multi-phase AC voltage, an AC bus that connects the power inverter to the stator windings, an AC choke that surrounds the AC bus, and a current sensor with a coil wound on or surrounded by the AC choke. The current sensor measures common mode current in the AC bus, and is used in pulse width modulation or slew rate control of the power inverter, ensuring smooth operation and reducing the risk of damage due to common mode current.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure include a symmetric direct current (DC) link capacitor having a low parasitic equivalent series L-inductance (ESL). An exemplary capacitor can include one or more positive-dielectric-negative (PDN) stacks having a positive layer, a negative layer, and a dielectric layer between the positive layer and the negative layer. A first contact layer is electrically coupled to the positive layer on a sidewall of the one or more PDN stacks and a second contact layer is electrically coupled to the negative layer on the sidewall of the one or more PDN stacks. A positive terminal is electrically coupled to the first contact layer and a negative terminal is electrically coupled to the second contact layer.

摘要: A variable current gate driver for a transistor includes a first current control device having a first controllable output current. The first current control device is electrically connected between a first bus and an activator of the transistor, and a second current control device having a second controllable output current. The second current control device is electrically connected between the activator of the transistor and a second bus. A controller is operatively connected to the first and second current control devices to control the first and second controllable output currents to control the first and second current control devices to control activation of the transistor via the activator. The controller is operative to control the first and second current control devices to control a slew rate of the transistor.

The choke device further includes a plurality of electric transmission lines configured for transmitting electrical energy in alternating current, wherein the plurality of electric transmission lines is routed through the hollow center. The geometric shape includes a number of sides based upon a number of the electric transmission lines present and is configured for minimizing or reducing an overall flux length of the magnetic core.
