摘要: A legume sheller having both an air separator and a sieve separator for removal of residual chaff or trash. Airflow through a screen carries legumes and trash upward, wherein most of the lighter trash is carried farther up the separator and over into a trash retainer. The legumes, and some residual larger pieces of trash, fall over a weir onto a sieve. The sieve has holes therein that permit the legumes to pass through into a collector. Slidable plates adjust the hole dimension. A vibrating table facilitates movement across the downward sloping sieve surface. Baffles prevent the legumes from rolling too quickly across the sieve. The sheller is equipped with a reversing conveyor that carries trash to a bag.

摘要: A wheel chair has means for surmounting obstacles, comprising extensible legs 8 with wheels 10 at their feet ends, a link cable or the like mechanical connection actuable by a handle, 18 for lifting the wheelchair, the legs being extensible by pushing the handle forward to force the wheels 10 downwardly and lift the castors 5, and auxiliary rear wheels 31 being lowered for lifting the main wheels 6. Each lever 17 is mechanically connected to bell crank 28 pivoted on the rear of a base frame member. The bell crank carries, with a similar crank on the other side, the auxiliary rear wheels 31 which can be raised and lowered in response to lever 17. The wheels 31 are driven via a belt drive 33 running about the periphery of the wheels 31 and driven from the main wheels of the wheel chair by a pulley 34. A sprocket and chain drive can be used instead.

摘要: An insecticide composition is provided for killing insects comprising a metal sequestering agent and an insecticide. The composition is particularly useful for killing scale insects, particularly Cycad Asian Scale insects that are hosted by plants of the cycad phyta division. Since the scale insect's shell includes calcium, the metal sequestering agent, when combined with an insecticide and/or fungicide, substantially increases the likelihood that the insecticide and/or fungicide will come into contact with the insect and kill the insect.

摘要: A memory device includes a semiconductor substrate in which memory circuitry has been fabricated. An address converter and a control signal converter are coupled to an address decoder and control logic, respectively. The address and control converters are operable to receive and convert optical address and control signals, respectively, into corresponding electrical address signals applied to the address decoder and control signals applied to the control logic. A read/write circuit on the substrate is coupled to a data converter formed in the substrate. The data converter is operable to receive and convert optical write data signals into corresponding electrical data signals to be applied to the read/write circuit and to receive and convert electrical read data signals into corresponding optical read data signals.

摘要: An ocean wave energy converter (WEC) utilizes the relative motion between permanent magnet and induction coil assemblies to generate electricity. The permanent magnet assemblies and induction coil assemblies are separately housed in watertight enclosures, enabling a wide range of wave energy converter configurations, nearly unlimited stroke and obviating the need for a common magnet/coil enclosure with seals. The magnet assemblies are constructed with surface or buried magnets. The wave motion moves a magnet assembly relative to a stationary coil assembly, or vice versa. Either the magnet assembly or the induction coil assembly are made long enough to provide the generation of electricity over a desired operational range of travel. Various means are provided to maintain the spacing (“gap”) between the magnetic and coil assemblies relatively constant.
