Abstract: To provide a high-pressure fuel supply pump having a relief valve mechanism capable of suppressing deterioration of the seat property due to the influence of deformation caused by press-fitting while press-fitting and fixing a relief seat. To achieve this, a relief seat 201 of a relief valve mechanism 200 has, on its inner peripheral side, a seat portion 201a on which a valve 202 is seated, a small-diameter channel portion 201b formed with a smaller diameter than the valve 202 on an upstream side of the seat portion 201a, and a large-diameter channel portion 201c formed with a larger diameter than the small-diameter channel portion 201b on an upstream side of the small-diameter channel portion 201b, and, on its outer peripheral side, a fine gap portion 201d formed between the relief seat 201 and a member arranged on an outer peripheral side of the relief seat 201 at a position overlapping the small-diameter channel portion 201b in a flow direction of the fuel, and a press-fit portion 205a coming into contact with the member when the relief seat 201 is press-fitted into the member at a position overlapping the large-diameter channel portion 201c in the flow direction of the fuel.

Abstract: A high-pressure fuel supply pump including an electromagnetically driven intake valve is configured such that a pressure equalizing hole is provided in the valve stopper positioned between the valve and a pressurizing chamber. The pressure equalization hole connects a spring storage space, provided between a valve and a valve stopper, with a surrounding fluid passage. The high-pressure fuel supply pump is further configured such that an opening of the pressure equalizing hole at the spring storage chamber side is open at a position at the inner side of a diameter of the spring. Since the pressure in the pressurizing chamber can be introduced into the inner side of the spring without traversing the spring, the unstable behavior of the spring or the valve due to the introduced pressure eliminated. Since the force applied to the valve when the valve closes is stabilized, the closing timing of the valve is stable.

Abstract: To reduce collision noise created by the operation of an electromagnetic suction valve provided on a high pressure fuel supply pump. In the present invention, in order to achieve the above object, the mass of a member which collides by magnetic attractive force is reduced to reduce the noise to be generated. The thus configured present invention provides the following advantageous effects. The noise generated when a core and an anchor collide with each other by magnetic attractive force depends on the magnitude of the kinetic energy of a moving element. The kinetic energy to be consumed in the collision is only the kinetic energy of the anchor. The kinetic energy of a rod, being absorbed by a spring, does not contribute to the noise; thus, the energy when the anchor and the core collide with each other can be reduced, whereby the noise to be created can be reduced.

Abstract: A high-pressure fuel supply pump in which a relief valve mechanism is not detached by a force generated by a differential pressure between an inlet side and an output side of a relief valve mechanism is obtained. According to the present invention, in order to obtain the high-pressure fuel supply pump, the relief valve mechanism of the high-pressure fuel supply pump is oriented from a downstream side of a discharge valve to an upstream side of the discharge valve, and the output side of the relief valve mechanism is inserted from the upstream side of the discharge valve into the pump housing, and the relief valve mechanism is fixed with press fitting. Therefore, a force exerted by the differential pressure between the inlet side pressure and the output side pressure of the relief valve mechanism is exerted in a direction in which the relief valve mechanism is inserted, so that the relief valve mechanism can be prevented from being detached.

Abstract: A high pressure fuel pump according to the present invention includes a cylinder which is fitted in a concave portion formed in a pump housing and which defines a compression chamber of the pump and a plunger which pressurizes, by sliding against the cylinder, the fluid in the compression chamber. The high pressure fuel pump is structured such that the fluid sucked into the compression chamber by reciprocating motion of the plunger is pressurized and is then discharged from the compression chamber.The cylinder is formed of a cylindrical member which has a ceiling portion and in which the compression chamber is partitionedly formed. A fuel suction path formed in the pump housing reaches the compression chamber through the cylinder and a fuel discharge path formed in the pump housing is connected to the compression chamber through the cylinder. The cylinder is pressed, for sealed fixation, against the pump body by a fuel pressurizing force applied to the cylinder.Neither holder nor caulking is used for cylinder fixation.

Abstract: Provided is a high-pressure fuel supply pump capable of arranging a relief valve mechanism inside a pump body while suppressing an increase in size and an increase in manufacturing cost. Therefore, a high-pressure fuel supply pump of the present invention includes: a plunger that changes a volume of a pressurizing chamber by reciprocating an inside of a cylinder; a first hole formed from an outer circumferential surface of a pump body toward an inner circumferential side; a relief valve mechanism arranged in the first hole; and a second hole that returns fuel in a flow path on a discharge side of a discharge valve pressurized in the pressurizing chamber to a damper chamber or a plunger seal chamber communicating with the damper chamber when the relief valve mechanism opens in communication with the first hole. At least a part of the relief valve mechanism arranged in the first hole is arranged on the pressurizing chamber side with respect to the uppermost end portion on the pressurizing chamber side of the cylinder.

Abstract: To increase a valve-opening pressure at which a pressure relief valve is opened in order to deal with a higher pressure of the fuel, a large pressure relief valve is installed in a high-pressure fuel supply pump. This upsizes the high-pressure fuel supply pump. A pressure relief valve is installed in a discharge joint. This can provide a high-pressure fuel supply pump that is not large too much and sufficiently performs a relief function by efficiently using the excessive space in the pump even when the fuel pressure is increased.
