摘要： The invention provides a method of reducing or preventing mitochondrial permeability transitioning. The method comprises administering an effective amount of an aromatic-cationic peptide having at least one net positive charge; a minimum of four amino acids; a maximum of about twenty amino acids; a relationship between the minimum number of net positive charges (pm) and the total number of amino acid residues (r) wherein 3pm is the largest number that is less than or equal to r+1; and a relationship between the minimum number of aromatic groups (a) and the total number of net positive charges (pt) wherein 2 a is the largest number that is less than or equal to pt+1, except that when a is 1, pt may also be 1.

摘要： The present invention provides methods for stimulating mu-opioid receptors with agonist peptides in a mammal in need thereof. The methods comprise administering to the mammal an effective amount of a selective mu-opioid receptor agonist peptide that comprises at least two α-amino acid residues. At least one of the amino acid residues has a positive charge. The amino acid residue in the first position is a tyrosine or tyrosine derivative. The amino acid in the second position is a D-α-amino acid. The present invention also provides methods of treating a mammal suffering from conditions or diseases by administering to the mammal an effective amount of the peptides.

摘要： An impermeable cooled closing plug adapted for closing the end of a semiconductor manufacture processing tube is made of a material selected from the group consisting of quartz, silicon and silicon carbide, which materials have low heat conductivity and high chemical stability. The cooling effects of a cooling liquid supplied to the entrance flange of a processing tube are isolated from the tube closing plug by virtue of the low heat conductivity, thus preventing unwanted condensation effects at the entrance of the tube.

In one embodiment, the first sensor module includes a plurality of rotational sensors made of piezoelectric elements. The piezoelectric elements are made from a single sheet of piezoelectric material so that the elements possess uniform characteristics, and are arranged to reduce systematic drift and random noise normally present in a rotational rate sensor. The sensors can be configured on a single multi-sensor chip.

摘要： A weft thread clamp for a weft thread presenting lever is positively actuated to selectively open or close the clamp and thereby release or hold the weft thread respectively. To achieve this, a second clamp element is movable or deflectable relative to a first clamp element of the clamp. The movable second clamp element may be directly embodied as an actuator, or may be driven by an actuating motion provided by an actuator located remotely from the clamp on the lever. In the latter case, a motion transmission arrangement such as a sheathed push-pull cable or a rod linkage operatively connects the actuator to the movable second clamp element. The actuator may be a piezoelectric, electromagnetic, hybrid pneumatic-electric, or hybrid hydraulic-electric device, or an electric motor. The loom control unit is connected to the actuator for providing control signals thereto.
