A ground plane has one or more open areas formed in it that surround pairs of signal vias formed in the board that are used to convey differential signals. The ground plane has a thin interconnecting strip, or web, that passes between the two vias of each pair and which divides the open areas into sub-areas, each sib-area containing a single via.

    摘要: A surface mount connector has a dielectric housing with first and second opposing mating faces. The first mating face includes first terminals and the second mating face includes second terminals. The first and second terminals each have a tail portion, a contact portion and a terminal retention portion. The terminal retention portion engages the connector housing, and an opening, or hole, is formed in the retention section of the terminal. This opening is sized to keep sufficient metal remaining to retain the terminal in the housing, yet having sufficient surface area to provide a desired capacitance and/or inductance for tuning the impedance of the terminal to the preselected level, the second terminals each having a second terminal retention section with a central portion removed thereof, the removed central portion being spaced away from the first terminal retention area, while minimizing the surface area, size and shape of the central section for tuning the impedance of the terminal to a preselected range.

    摘要: An apparatus and method to individually weigh continuously fed mail pieces wherein each mail piece is configured in a vertical orientation and fed through the weighing system in seriatim. The apparatus contains a scale transport assembly for transporting mail pieces seriatim, a mail piece channel pathway assembly for maintaining the vertical orientation of individual mail pieces, a load cell assembly for measuring the mail piece weight, an x-y table assembly for allowing position adjustments of the weighing system, data collection circuitry, and a support module.     摘要: An electrical signal transmission system includes a plurality of elongated conductors extending in a generally parallel array. The conductors have input ends at one end of the array and output ends at an opposite end of the array. Each conductor includes an elongated intermediate section and transition sections at opposite ends of the intermediate section joining the intermediate section to the input and output ends of the conductor. The array of conductors define two outside pairs of conductors and at least one inside pair of conductors. The elongated intermediate sections of the conductors in the inside pair thereof being spaced apart wider than the elongated intermediate sections of the conductors in each outside pair thereof.

The terminal assembly includes a plurality of terminals, arranged in pairs on a lead frame and a dielectric frame is molded over the terminal set. The terminals have an L-shape so that their contact portions extend out along one side of the frame and their tail portions extend along another adjacent side of the frame. Clip members are disposed on the frame one side between the sets of terminal contact portions and the clip members engage an opposing shoulder of a connector housing to assist in maintaining the terminal assemblies in place within the connector housing.

    摘要: A terminal contact arrangement for a connector promotes reduction in deviation of the impedance of the connector when mated to an opposing connector and energized. The connector has an insulative housing with a plurality of terminal-receiving passages disposed in it. Conductive terminals are supported in some, but not all of the passages. The terminal contain distinct terminal sets that include a pair of differential signal terminals and at least two associated ground reference terminals. The two associated ground reference terminals are interconnected together so that electrically, they act as a single ground terminal having a width equal to the sum of the widths of the two connected ground reference terminals. The ground reference terminals of the sets are disposed in a single row of terminals, while the differential signal terminals of the same terminal set are disposed in another row of terminals spaced apart from the row of ground reference terminals. The differential signal terminals are separated from each other within their terminal row by an empty passage so that the two differential signal terminals of each terminal set are spaced farther apart from each other than they are spaced apart from their associated ground reference terminals.
