    摘要: A variable capacity type viscous heater is provided which can carry out the capacity control reliably, and which can inhibit the endurable heat-generating efficiency of a viscous fluid from deteriorating even after a long period of service. For instance, its rear housing 6 is provided with a control chamber 9 which is communicated with a central region of a heat-generating chamber 7, and which has an internal volume capable of expanding and contracting. When a rotor 14 is kept rotated, a silicone oil held, in the heat-generating chamber 7, expands the internal volume of the control chamber 9 by the Weissenberg effect in the capacity reduction. As a result, the heating is relieved, because the silicone oil, held in the heat-generating chamber 7, is collected into the control chamber 9.

The heat generating region and fluid storing region communicating through an aperture formed in a partition wall formed in the working chamber, and the aperture having a gas-phase portion, a liquid-phase portion and a liquid supply portion.

    摘要: A compressor mounted on a vehicle is disclosed. The compressor includes an apparatus for transmitting rotational power from an engine to drive shaft of the compressor via a pulley. The apparatus has a spring coupled to one of the pulley and the drive shaft. A deformable ring is coupled to the other one of the pulley and the drive shaft. The deformable ring is deformed by heat. The spring and the deformable ring are being held in abutment against each other by the force of the spring so as to transmit the rotational power to each other. A contact ring is interposed between the spring and the deformable ring. The contact ring has a rigidity larger than that of the deformable ring. The spring and the contact ring frictionally contact one another to generate the heat that deform the deformable ring when load generated in the drive shaft is in excess of a predetermined value.

The expansion of the heat generating region formed by the gap increases a restraint acting against movement of the viscous fluid caused by the rotation of the rotor element so as to increase friction and a shearing force acting on the viscous fluid, and heat generation by the viscous fluid is increased.
