    摘要: The present invention provides display that permits a user to grasp time more intuitively. Data associated with respective dates is retrieved and displayed, each set of data being displayed in a display screen that is displayed smaller than that for preceding data in the series (in any temporal direction). Each set of data is displayed inside the preceding set with a smaller display area. Also, a display area may be divided into an area where icons representing data items belonging to one level are displayed, and an area where child levels are displayed. As hierarchical depth increases, the data icons are made smaller and simpler. The hierarchical structure of a file system or database can be displayed as a Venn diagram. Data items belonging to child levels are displayed as reduced images instead of being hidden. A cutout form and image are registered mutually and independently. An identifier, position, and size of the cutout form are specified as attributes of the image, permitting an image to be fetched into album software by performing a simple operation.

The apparatus has an attribute file or an attribute table for registering therein an attribute peculiar to the data to be registered so that the data attribute can be registered simultaneously with the registration of the data. The data can thus be managed through an application in a unified manner based on the attribute data registered in the attribute file or the attribute table. In order to complete the processing of the application, the attribute data of the attribute file or the attribute table is set to be a mode either of "read-only" or "hidden".

    摘要: In an image sensing and recording apparatus capable of recording image data on plural types of removable recording media, a recording speed of a recording medium for recording image data is recognized, then image sensing modes, including-a single image sensing mode and a sequential image sensing mode, which are set in advance are classified into available image sensing mode and unavailable image sensing mode on the basis of the recognized recording speed. Further, image sensing parameters, including numbers of pixels per frame and frame rates for the sequential image sensing mode, which are set in advance are also classified into available image sensing mode and unavailable image sensing mode on the basis of the recognized recording speed of the recording medium. A user selects and sets desirable image sensing mode among the available image sensing mode or modes and desirable image sensing parameter or parameters among the available image sensing parameter or parameters, then performs an image sensing operation.
