摘要: A cemented carbide comprises a binder phase consisting essentially of an iron family metal, a first hard phase consisting essentially of WC having a hexagonal crystal structure, and a second hard phase consisting essentially of one or more types of a compound of a metal or metals of group 4, 5 or 6 of the periodic table having an NaCl-type cubic crystal structure. The cemented carbide is formed by a surface region with a thickness of 2 to 50 μm consisting of the binder phase and the first hard phase, and an inner region present underneath the surface region consisting of the binder phase, the first hard phase and the second hard phase. A ratio of an average grain size of the first hard phase in the surface region to an average grain size of the first hard phase in the inner region is 1 or less, and a ratio of an area of the binder phase in the surface region to an area of the binder phase in the inner region is greater than 1.

摘要: In a state in which a first ball 103 is assembled in between a first inner peripheral raceway surface of an outer ring 105 and an outer peripheral raceway surface of a shaft 101, and a second ball 104 is placed in between a second inner peripheral raceway surface of the outer ring 105 and an outer peripheral surface of the shaft 101, a first distance “a” from a plane “q” generally perpendicular to a central axis “p” of the shaft 101 to the second ball 104 and a second distance “b” from the plane “q” to a stepped portion 107 of the shaft 101 are measured. Then, the size in the axial direction of the inner ring 102 is adjusted on the basis of a difference between the first distance “a” and the second distance “b”.

摘要: A disc-like grinding wheel 5 is formed with a circumferential groove 5a, the opposite walls of which define grinding surfaces 5b. A rotated carrier 3 brings a load pin 55 into rotary movement relative to the grinding wheel 5 rotated about an axis 5z, so as to pass the load pin 55 through space between the grinding surfaces 5b, whereby opposite end faces 55a of the load pin 55 are ground simultaneously. Thus, time taken by a grinding process may be reduced as compared with a conventional method wherein one end face is ground at a time.

摘要: A connector unit comprises a case, a substrate and a connector. The case is formed with an opening. The substrate is installed within the case and is formed with a signal conductive pattern and a ground conductive pattern. The ground conductive pattern is electrically connected to the case. The connector comprises a contact, an outer conductor and a high impedance member. The outer conductor is electrically connected to the ground conductive pattern. The outer conductor is insulated from the contact but covers, at least in part, the contact. The contact is electrically connected to the signal conductive pattern. The high impedance member has high impedance in a high frequency range. The high impedance member is positioned between the outer conductor and the case within the opening of the case. For example, the high impedance member is an electric wave absorber.

摘要: A request scheduling for scheduling requests to a secondary recording media while minimizing the frequency of recording-medium mounting/removing events in a secondary storage unit of an HSM (hierarchical storage management) system by searching for one or more request(s) processed or to be executed as executable on a drive unit, in units of the drive unit. According to the searching, detecting one or more generated read request(s) to read data from a recording medium mounted on the drive unit, and setting the drive unit as an exclusive drive for the read request(s). And scheduling a drive unit having an elapsed time period for a mounted recording media not exceeding a predetermined time period to execute an executable request by priority.

摘要: An organic EL element that is an electroluminescence element has at least an organic layer held between a pair of electrodes. At least an electrode made of material having a higher volume resistivity, of the pair of electrodes, is formed in a flat form. The organic layer is provided with a plurality of non-light emitting portions. The non-light emitting portions are provided so that a larger number of non-light emitting portions exist per unit area at a position physically closer to the position of a terminal portion at which the electrode made of material having the higher volume resistivity is connected to an external connection terminal. As a result, the level of current passing per unit area is substantially uniform at each position on the element.

摘要: In the presence of (1) an oxidizing catalyst comprising an imide compound such as N-hydroxyphthalimide, or (2) an oxidizing catalyst comprising such imide compound and a transition metal element-containing compound as a co-oxidizing agent (e. g., oxides, halides, complexes, hetero polyacid salts) a hydrocaron, an alcohol, an aldehyde, or a ketone as a substrate is brought into contact with molecular oxygen for oxidation. In the above-described oxidation process, the water content of the oxidizing reaction system is 200 mol or lower relative to 1 mol of the imide compound. According to the present invention, a substrate is efficiently oxidized with molecular oxygen under mild conditions, and there can be obtained the object compound(s) of high quality.
