    摘要: A decompressing mechanism (D) for an internal combustion engine (E) is incorporated into a camshaft (15) provided with a bore (54) extending in the direction of the arrow (A) along the axis (L1) of rotation of the camshaft (15). The decompressing mechanism (D) includes a decompression member (80) formed by metal injection and integrally having a flyweight (81), a decompression cam (82) for exerting a valve-opening force through an exhaust rocker arm (48) on an exhaust valve, and an arm (83) connecting the flyweight (81) and the decompression cam (82). The flyweight (81) is supported for swing motion by a pin (71) on the camshaft (15). The axis (L2) of swing motion of the flyweight (81) is included in a plane (P4) substantially perpendicular to the axis (L1) of rotation, and does not intersect the axis (L1) of rotation and the bore (54) of the camshaft (15). The fully expanded decompression member (80) revolves in a cylindrical space of a small diameter around the camshaft (15).

    摘要: A decompressing mechanism included in an internal combustion engine has a flyweight supported for swinging motion by a pin on the camshaft of the internal combustion engine, a decompression cam and an arm connecting the flyweight and the decompression cam and having the shape of a plate. The flyweight has a weight body and projections projecting from the weight body and engaged with the pin. The weight body is a block of a width along the axis of swinging motion and a thickness, along a radial direction, which are greater than the thickness, along the axis, of swinging motion of the arm. The weight body overlaps the camshaft as viewed from a direction perpendicular to a reference plane. The decompressing mechanism is small, lightweight and is capable of concentrating most of its mass on the flyweight.

    摘要: A cover structure (50) in an outboard engine (1) having an engine (2) with an engine block (8), a vertical crankshaft (7) and a vertical camshaft (15) having upper end portions projecting upward from the engine block, a timing belt (17) extended between upper ends of the crankshaft and the camshaft, and a flywheel (12a) disposed on the upper end portion of the crankshaft (7). The ventilation cover structure (50) comprises a first cover (60) disposed above the engine block (8) so as to cover at least the flywheel (12a) and opening downward, and a second cover disposed above the engine block (8) so as to cover a space extending over a portion of the engine block (8) including the camshaft (15) and opening downward. The first and the second covers (60, 80) are joined together so that spaces covered with the first and the second covers (60, 80) are united in a single space. A discharge duct (90) is formed on at least either the first cover (60) or the second cover (80) so as to lie outside a space occupied by the flywheel (12a) on a level above that of the timing belt (17).

A portion of the exhaust gas in the main exhaust gas expansion chamber is passed through a communication bore and the subsidiary exhaust gas expansion chamber and discharged from an exhaust outlet into the air.

    摘要: In an outboard engine system in which a passage defining member having a passage wall defining an exhaust gas passage for guiding an exhaust gas from an engine is provided at its outer wall with a recess and a seal surface surrounding the recess; a fluid passage isolated from the exhaust gas passage is defined between the recess and a lid member which is mounted to the outer wall of the passage defining member with a seal member interposed between the lid member and the seal surface; and an exhaust gas sampling pipe is inserted into the exhaust gas passage through an insertion bore provided in the passage defining member to open into the seal surface, it is arranged that the seal member is formed to surround an opening at an outer end of the insertion bore, and the exhaust gas sampling pipe is gas-tightly fixed in the lid member to extend through the lid member. Thus, the exhaust gas sampling pipe can be inserted into the exhaust gas passage, while avoiding an increase in size of the lid member.

    摘要: An outboard engine system includes a case member which is disposed below an engine body and integrally provided with an oil pan opening upwards, and a passage wall extending vertically to define an exhaust gas passage through which an exhaust gas flows. A portion of an outer wall of the case member is formed by the passage wall, and a recess is provided in the outer wall of the case member with a portion of the passage wall facing the recess. The recess is covered with a plate member fixed to the outer wall of the case member, and a cooling water passage, through which cooling water flows, is defined between the plate member and the recess. Thus, the passage wall integral with the oil pan is cooled effectively, while avoiding increases in size and weight.

    摘要: A piston is reliably cooled from its backside by using an oil for lubricating portions around a crank pin of a crankshaft. An engine including a crankshaft is provided with lubricating oil bores to supply an oil from journals of the crankshaft to an outer peripheral surface of a crank pin. A larger end of the connecting rod is provided with a pair of opposed axial oil grooves in its outer peripheral surface, and with an annular oil passage connected to the axial groove in its side thrust face. A pair of cooling oil injection grooves each have one end connected to the annular oil passage and the other end directed to a piston while they are provided proximate to each other.
