Abstract: An apparatus for directing fluid into and out of a fluidic device includes two or more fluid prime channels connected to a fluid inlet of the fluidic device, a flow control valve for each fluid prime channel to control flow between the fluid prime channel and the fluid inlet, one or more outlet channels connected to a fluid outlet of the fluidic device, and a flow control valve for each outlet channel to control flow between the fluid outlet and the associated outlet channel. An apparatus for delivering fluids to a fluid inlet includes a plate that is rotatable about an axis of rotation and a plurality of fluid compartments disposed on the plate, each compartment having a fluid exit port disposed at a common radial distance from the axis of rotation and positioned to align with the fluid inlet as the plate rotates about the axis of rotation.

Abstract: Provided herein include various examples of a method for manufacturing aspects of flow cell. The method may include performing chemical processes on a surface of the patterned wafer to prepare the surface of the patterned, singulating the wafer into individual dies, orienting each die on a temporary substrate, where the orienting creates spaces between each individual die, and molding a material over the spaces to create a hybrid wafer comprised of glass and molded material. The method may also include bonding two of the hybrid wafers together, forming a bonded wafer stack.

Abstract: An example method includes connecting a flow cell to an instrument. The flow cell includes a flow channel including a manifold section having a manifold section swept volume and a detection section having a detection section swept volume. A ratio of the detection section swept volume to manifold section swept volume is at least 10 to 1. A first reagent is pumped through the flow channel. A first chemical reaction is performed between the first reagent and analytes positioned in the detection section. A subsequent reagent is pumped through the flow channel to flush out the remaining reagent. A concentration of at least 99.95 percent of reagent positioned in the detection section is the subsequent reagent, after pumping a total volume of the subsequent reagent through the flow channel that is equal to or less than 2.5 times a total swept volume of the manifold section plus the detection section.

Abstract: Cartridges and related systems and methods are disclosed. In accordance with an implementation, a method includes securing a sample container in a sample container receptacle of a cartridge using a sample container lock and coupling the cartridge to a cartridge receptacle of a system. The method also includes depositing a sample from the sample container within a sample well of the cartridge and determining a presence of a target molecule within the sample using the system. In response to the target molecule being present within the sample, the method includes releasing the sample container lock of the cartridge to allow the sample container to be removed from the sample container receptacle and for the cartridge to remain coupled to the system.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a fluid reservoir and a laminate fluidic circuit positioned above the fluid reservoir. The laminate fluidic circuit includes two or more layers laminated together to define a substantially planar substrate and one or more channels defined within the substrate. The laminate fluidic circuit includes a flexible conduit defined by a portion of the substrate encompassing an extent of at least one of the channels that is partially separated or separable from the remainder of the substrate. The flexible conduit is deflectable with respect to the planar substrate toward the fluid reservoir such that the flexible conduit fluidly connects the at least one channel to the fluid reservoir.
