摘要: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods for communication in accordance with a packet convergence and link control (PCLC) layer are generally described herein. The UE may receive, from a Fifth Generation (5G) eNB, a first group of medium access control (MAC) protocol data units (PDUs) that include PCLC PDUs. In accordance with PCLC sequence numbers (SNs), the UE may reorder the PCLC PDUs and may decipher the PCLC PDUs. The UE may receive, from a legacy eNB, a second group of MAC PDUs that include packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) PDUs encapsulated in radio link control (RLC) PDUs. The UE may reorder the RLC PDUs based on RLC SNs and may decipher the RLC PDUs based on PDCP SNs that are exclusive to the RLC SNs.

摘要: An apparatus of a base station includes a memory device and processing circuitry operatively coupled to the memory device. The processing circuitry processes a buffer status report (BSR) from a user equipment (UE) indicating an amount of data in a buffer of the UE. The processing circuitry further determines a ratio of WLAN uplink data to be transmitted on a WLAN channel of the UE to long term evolution (LTE) uplink data to be transmitted on a LTE channel. Furthermore, the processing circuitry encodes a protocol data unit (PDU) indicating the amount, wherein the PDU is to be transmitted to the UE.

摘要: Techniques for 60 GHz long term evolution (LTE)-wireless local area network (WLAN) aggregation (LWA) for keeping a 60 GHz channel alive for fifth generation (5G) and beyond are discussed herein. An apparatus of a 5G/long term evolution (LTE) evolved NodeB (eNB) is connected to a 60 GHz access point (AP) via an Xw interface, and has a baseband circuit with one or more baseband processors. The baseband circuit encodes one or more measurement events, wherein upon receipt by a user equipment (UE) sets a trigger to measure a 60 GHz access point.

摘要: Certain embodiments described herein use variable RTT for HARQ operations. Uplink HARQ may include, for example, for a first synchronous HARQ process, a UE selects first downlink resources to monitor for first HARQ feedback based on the first HARQ RTT value, and generates a first HARQ retransmission for first uplink resources in response to the first HARQ feedback. For a second synchronous HARQ process, the UE select second downlink resources to monitor for second HARQ feedback based on the second HARQ RTT value, and generates a second HARQ retransmission for second uplink resources in response to the second HARQ feedback. In certain embodiments, a RAN node signals or indicates the variable RTT values to the UE.

摘要: Disclosed herein are methods, apparatuses, and systems for utilizing lightweight communication protocols between different network components. A messaging process is utilized which includes a random access procedure for a user equipment (UE) and an eNodeB, and a messaging sequence comprising a reduced number of messages (compared to a legacy Radio Resource Control (RRC) Connection messaging sequence) exchanged between different nodes of the network to establish a connection. These messages can be generated using any combination of pre-configured or pre-determined data specific to either the UE or to lightweight communication protocols.

摘要: A user equipment device (UE) may create efficient Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) status reports. The UE may receive PDCP packets from multiple radio access technologies (RATs) using the same bearer or same RAT using split bearers. The UE may identify packets that the UE should have received but did not, and may create a status report based on the sequence numbers (SNs) of the packets that the UE failed to receive or based on the SNs of the successful packets. The report may include the SNs of the packets, in addition to a bit-length of the SNs and/or a starting point of the SNs in the status report. Alternatively, the report may include the SN of a first packet that the UE failed to receive and offset values (relative to the SN of the first packet) for the other packets that the UE failed/succeed to receive.
